There's tons and tons of seaweed on the shore and far, far out in the water. It makes it hard to keep the line out in the water for more than 2 minutes. It doesn't stop us from catching fish, we caught some, but half of the time on the water was spent on taking off seaweed from the hook. It still was a great trip for us!

The Captain got us on the fish. That's really what it's all about. 6 hour trip was enough to get out far enough to fish for pelagic species.

We had a great time, but you need to be aware that this is fishing in deep water with large swells. If you even think you'll get seasick you need to take something for that prior. We luckily did and had a great time.

best fishing trip but may be seasonal on whats biting. trolled mainly. if you are looking for bottom fishing let them know. this is a trolling boat set up for sporting game fish. they can do both you just have to let them know.

This may not be an all time thing but... Sargassum is a huge problem in the Caribbean. When the huge floatilla of weeds pass thru the fish do not feed or bite. This is not a fault of anyone and due to its unpredictability it can change the game very quickly.

Book with Don Chingon Charters. And if possible do a minimum of 6 hrs so your trip can be a good. I also recommend you to take some sea sick pills for those that get easily nauseated. And take some towels, sun block, cap/hat and sun glasses.

Definitely a fun time! If you like fishing then give them a try. we caught multiple tuna a trigger fish an amberjack and a albacore. we kept what we were comfortable bringing back to the airbnb and cooked it and made fish tacos. a trip we will never forget.
