Trip Summary

It was an early start, but the crew and I were eager to get out on the water for today's 5 Hour (AM)Fishing Trip with Today We Fish Charter and Adventures. March in South Padre Island, Texas is prime time for fishing, with warming waters drawing in a variety of species. As the morning fog burned off and the skies started to clear, we headed out, ready to chase whatever the day had in store. We tried a mix of techniques - drifting, jigging, and light tackle fishing - covering different depths to find the fish. While we managed to land 12 Trout to take home and alot of small ones, we still had a great time out on the water. The conditions were ideal, with clear, calm seas that made for a comfortable and enjoyable day. Between drifts and casts, we took in the scenic Texas coastline and shared stories, just relishing the chance to be out on the water With their familytogether. The trip was a success in my book. Fishing is about more than just the numbers - it's about the overall experience, the time spent with good company, and simply getting to enjoy a beautiful day on the water. That's what makes a trip like this so special, and why I love being able to share it with anglers of all skill levels. If you're looking to experience the best fishing South Padre Island Texas has to offer, I'd highly recommend booking a trip with Today We Fish Charter and Adventures. South Padre Morning Bay Trip: Speckled T
South Padre Morning Bay Trip: Speckled T
November 2, 2025
Megan and family headed out for our fall morning trip with partly cloudy skies and the possibility of storms rolling in later. The early morning conditions looked promising as we launched from South Padre Island for our half-day bay fishing adventure with Today We Fish Charter and Adventures. We focused on drift fishing and bottom fishing techniques, with some trolling mixed in to cover more water. They managed to land a solid speckled trout and a 25” drum during our session. South Padre Island's bay system works well for these techniques because of the varied structure and current patterns that hold fish consistently. We wrapped up the morning run with good action and plenty of time before any weather moved in. If you're looking to get on the water around South Padre Island, our 1/2 Day Morning Bay Fishing Trip with Today We Fish Charter and Adventures offers the perfect opportunity to target speckled trout and other bay species. We use proven techniques like drift fishing, bottom fishing, and trolling to maximize your chances of success in these productive waters. The morning trips work especially well during fall months when the fishing picks up and weather patterns are more predictable.
