Trip Summary

What a fantastic morning we had out on the water today with Jeff and their crew for our Private Half-Day Morning Fishing Trip here in South Padre Island, TX! June is a prime time for inshore fishing in these parts, with the warmer weather and calm conditions making for some excellent opportunities to target species like the mighty Spotted Trout We met up at Pompano Park right at 7:00 AM and couldn't wait to get the lines in the water. As soon as we hit the flats, the fish started firing. We mixed it up, working the shallows with light tackle one moment, then shifting to some deeper water jigging and drifting to cover more ground. The crew was on point, calling out baitfish and working together to maximize our time on the water. It wasn't long before we started hooking into some feisty Spotted Trout. Those fish put up one heck of a fight, stripping line and making powerful runs, but we stayed on them and landed some real nice ones. The weather stayed pleasant all morning, with just enough cloud cover to keep things comfortable. Between the steady action and the beautiful South Padre scenery, the time flew by. Before we knew it, we were headed back to the dock, smiles all around and some great memories made. That's what days like this are all about - getting out on the water, spending quality time with good friends, and connecting with the incredible inshore fishery this area has to offer. Winter Bay Action: Black Drum & Trout De
Winter Bay Action: Black Drum & Trout De
January 17, 2026
Had a crew of four join us for a winter morning trip starting in the early hours. Cloudy skies hung over us throughout the day with rain coming down, but that didn't stop us from getting out on the water. The conditions were what you'd expect for January - a bit rough but nothing we couldn't handle with Today We Fish Charter and Adventures. We focused on drift fishing and bottom fishing techniques, with some trolling mixed in to cover more water. The crew managed to land some solid Black Drum and Speckled Trout during our half-day outing. These techniques work well in these waters because they let you target different depths and structures where the fish are holding. We wrapped up the trip with good catches and everyone had a great time despite the weather.
