Today was a beautiful day to be on the water.  We fished a reef that he had caught a 70 lb Grouper on the day before.  Fishing was slow because we were fishing for quality and not quantity.  No Grouper on the first stop but caught several very large Corvina (sea trout), some smaller bait fish, and a couple nice Pargo (snapper).  Our second move produced a couple Pargo and small bait fish.  Our third stop produced a couple Pargo, one Grouper about 20 lbs, and missed two very good Grouper bites.  We had a great day fishing with Francisco and his son Aldo.  I would recommend a trip on the Princesa to anyone wanting to enjoy a day of fishing while in Puerto Penasco.  Good captain, nice boat , and a good time.

According to the weather report we were supposed to have a great day on the water.  I guess Mother Nature didn’t read the forecast.  We only traveled about 4 miles due to the increasing breeze and waves. Fishing was pretty slow and Captain Francisco moved a few times, trying to find some active fish.  We finally found a spot the Sea Trout were actively feeding.  We decided to head in a little early due to the wind and rough sea.  Captain Francisco and the Princesa got us back safely through some large white capped waves.  We were never in any danger or concerns with Captain Francisco at the helm.  I would recommend a fishing trip with Captain Francisco any time you are in the Rocky Point area.

My wife and 3 teens went out with Franscisco today and had the most amazing day.  He knew the area so well.  We were pulling trigger fish like crazy. He kept the hooks covered in bait and the fish were biting like mad.

During the day as we went to other spots we saw dolphins, 2 whales, and even a group of sea lions in the open ocean.

Francisco had some burritos for us as well as some waters and juices. 

At the end of the trip he cleaned the fish and gave us some prep tips.  The fillets were put into a zipper bag which made it easy to take to our Air B&B for later frying.

This was the most amazing day.  I cannot recommend Francisco enough.  Thank you!

The ocean was unbelievably calm and the tidal movement was about 18 ft at least.  We took a chance and traveled about 13 miles south today.  Our hope was to catch quality and not so much quantity.  Captain Francisco’s plan worked out perfectly.  We have been spoiled so many times when fishing on the Princesa .  A normal outing is about 60-100 fish a day.  Today, by traveling further, was different.  The bites were fewer and farther between.  Due to the heavy tidal movement, the current was very strong.  We were using 6-8 oz of weight in order to reach the bottom.  The bites were fewer but the quality was great.  We caught a Barred Pargo Snapper, a nice Grouper, a very nice Yellowtail, along with a few Triggers, Rock bass, some junk fish, and one unknown large fish that broke off before we could see it.  Captain Francisco is an awesome guide and a good person also.  He is extremely knowledged and has years of experience to show you a great fishing trip.  I would recommend taking a fishing trip on the Princesa with Captain Francisco whenever you are in the Puerto Penasco area.  Thank you so much for a Great day on the water.

We were delayed about an hour this morning, due to heavy fog.  It’s good to know the Harbor Master is concerned about the safety of everyone.  Just because we were delayed made no difference to the fish.  From the first drop of our bait in about 150 ft of water, we were catching fish.  The ocean was quite calm so we traveled out to the seven mile reef.  We caught huge Trigger fish, many rock bass, a couple Pinto bass, a few Corvina, along with a couple other species of fish.  We were a group of five people and and fished comfortably without issue.  As far as I’m concerned, Capitan Francisco is the best person to go with for a great time and fishing experience.  Weather you are a beginner or an experienced fisherman, Captain Francisco and the Princesa is your best chance to have a great day on the water.  Thank you for an amazing day.
