Thanks for coming out with us this January!
Captain spotted a hammerhead shark following a live bait. He said that it was only 20# test line. Could fight it for a long time and never get to see it. He quickly rigged another line with stronger line and leader. While getting that new line and bsit out there behind the boat, he was also reeling in the other lines away from the shark. The shark took the bait on the selected line and was brought to the boat. The captain was ready to detach the anchor of the boat and hang it on a buoy, so we could chase the shark, but didnโt need to. It was said that 5 footers are relatively common, but a 10 footer is special.

Brought my family of 4 from Houston, TX to celebrate my birthday. The weather was bright and sunny with very mild wind, current was tough for sure. Captain Alex did a variety of fishing technics including trolling, bottom fishing with desd and live bait along with kite fishing, which was new to me. He tried his best to put us on fish but unfortunately the targeted fish (Mahi- Wahoo) were not around. We did catch a 9ft Nurse shark which made a great picture and good action for sure. Also caught a few smaller sharks and a mutton snapper that unfortunately had to go back.
I would recommend this trip! Specially if this is your first time going out there with your familiy.

Had a good size fish shake the hook off about half way in, right out of the gate. I. aught 5 fish, same kind. Forgot what they were but I gave them up to use for bait. An 18 year old kud caught a 40โ baracuda, which was really cool. This is the 3rd time I went out with these guys and I will seek them out and go again next year.
Captain Pete was amazing, super knowledgeable, helpful, and entertaining. He definitely knows what heโs doing and knows how to catch fish. Well worth the money and definitely an experience Iโll never forget! The boat was very well kept, super clean, and comfortable. Would recommend Captain Pete or Goodhit Sport Fishing to anyone.
Mike was such an amazing Captain and very knowledgeable. It was just my 15yr old nephew and myself. Weโve both never been saltwater fishing more less nearshore but he was so kind and patient with us both. We even caught a 7.5-8ft Great Hammerhead shark! It was such a special moment for us and a memory that will last our lifetime. Thank you so much Mike and Good Hit Sportfishing 2.0!
