Boat was old.ย Captain and mate became frustrated when no bait was caught for an hour and 15 mins.ย Only 1 bait fly pole rigged up.ย When the bait started to bite I suggested the mate rig up another so we could both try.ย He gave me the bait pole and started to rig another.ย I immediately caught our third bait but before the second pole was rigged the Captain decided we didnโt need bait and we left immediately.ย Every time a fish was hooked the mate was trying to adjust the drag while fighting the fish.ย This slowed the fight down allowing sharks to eat the five solid hook ups we had.ย ย Both the Captain and mate were great people, although a negative vibe was the most prevalent part of the trip.

Thank you again for the review. To Start to address your points the boat is a1958 Merritt sport fish. Itโs still listed in the top twenty sport fishing boats ever built. This fact was never hidden and clearly viable
At the start of your trip the boats idea was to start fishing for snappers on the reefs edge. You told me you can catch snapper at home and thatโs not what you wanted to do! I altered the plans for the day knowing a major front was coming at lunch time. i asli mentioned that things could be slow with thr cold weather. the customer is always right do we proceeded!
Being this is the coldest winter in 20 years and the day of your trip another cold front was scheduled to arrive at one pm ( the pouring rain we went through., the 20 mph winds switching directions we finished in). With the record cold waters bait fishing was very difficult.
We then proceeded to head 14 miles off shore to a sea mount to try and catch tuna. On the way we had either a wahoo or sailfish bite and the fish threw the hook while you fighting it. Being that are waters are at almost record low temperatures things were quieter than normal. We did hook a tuna and the fish was eaten by a shark while you were reeling it in. We also live bait bottom fished and every drop you hooked in to a fish but the sharks consumed them. You actually watched the shark attack one fish at the boat?
I knew were upset when instructed on how to move a fish through the water volume with using the rod to lift the fish and the reel to gather the line. I am sorry that I offered instructions to try and aide your chances on getting the fish past the predators. Thank you for the points you made as they help us with our daily routine.
