It was a tough day on the water to find biting fish, but we tried trolling, jigging, poppers,and cut bait. we caght red snapper, spanish mackerel, and albacore. Excellent conversations with the captain. Hopefullywe will be back next year to do this again. thalnk you!!

Captain Genaro and his deck hand Jeremy were fantastic. They totally added to our experience. They spoke great english which is a huge plus for us.
The Captain asked what kind of fishing experience we were looking for and we told him that “we wanted each of us (three) to catch any kind of fish to knock catching a fish in Costa Rica off our bucket list. From there we would like to catch some big open water fish.”
The captain took us out for about an hour and put us on 5 big Mahi Mahi in the first three hours of us fishing.

Not only was the fishing everything we could have asked for, Genaro was very personable and had lots of local knowledge about the fishing and history of Costa Rica.
On our trip we also were lucky enough to see humpback whales, sea turtles, dolphins, flying fish, rays, and a few sail fish jumping out of the water.

I will definitely book with them again and tell anyone who is looking for a good crew to fish with in Costa Rica to use Papagayo Fishing.
