For the last 5 years, our beach vacation has included a charter boat trip. Weโve found a lot of good times, even when we havenโt found a lot of fish. For this trip to the Delaware shore, I booked a trip with Captain Dave on the MC Slammer. Both the captain and the boat were flexible and able to chase the bite, whatever and wherever it might be. We started out on the hunt for flounder. But the tide did not cooperate; so we left the canal and inlet and headed near shore to catch triggerfish. Dave didnโt just put us on the fish, he also showed us how to catch the fish. And he is good with kids. When mine hauled in a citation-sized (5.1 lbs) triggerfish, Dave took a photo and captured a citation-sized smile. But Iโll tell you this, if he took a selfie, he would have captured the same-sized smile. Without a doubt, we will fish with Captain Dave again.
