Capt. Joe was fantastic. He got us on fish in a matter of minutes, and it never stopped from there. My son (who had never caught a salt water fish), and my wife (who had never caught a fish, ever) had the best time. To quote my 12 year-old son, “This was the most amazing experience on water in my life!,” and “this is 10x better than Fortnight!” (IYKYK). Great communication throughout the entire process, and a level of professionalism unlike any other. I would 1000% recommend Capt Joe to anyone wanting to catch fish, and have a great time!!

I’ve done several half day trips over the years out of Wrightsville and my recent trip with Captain Joe was the best experience by far.

He got us on the fish fast! 42 total, 27 Spanish and 15 Bonita. We threw back a King that was an inch short.

He answered a ton of questions I had on the best tackle to target inshore and offshore fish.

My two boys always wanted to take a fishing charter. We quickly looked one up in Wilmington NC and Captain Joe Currie and the “Lever Drag” peeked our interest.

He did not disappoint at all. He was very professional, patient, knowledgeable, and most of all courteous. My boys wanted a great fishing experience after striking out on the pier all week and they HAD A BLAST!

We appreciated the transparency that no catches were promised; nevertheless, Captain Joe made sure to make every attempt as rewarding as possible.

His knowledge and wisdom of the seas; plus his experience, yielded my sons 32 Spanish Makeral catches! They loved every time they got behind the fishing rod to reel them in.

He even took his time to give fishing pointers and tips to my kids.

I highly recommend your first or your reoccurring fishing charter to be with Captain Joe. His boat was very clean, comfortable, and spacious.
