Ahhh yes -good ole Bruce. I sure appreciate you “not recommending” ivory keys charters per your review. Let’s recap our trip, shall we? Bruce was nice enough to give me 24 hours notice that he couldn’t make his trip date he had scheduled so I shuffled my schedule around for him & made it happen on short notice -no prob, happy to do so. We had a pretty significant weather system move through a few days before our trip so I informed him in the morning that it’d be in our best interest to make a 30-40 min boat ride to an area that should have been relatively unaffected by the wind and big weather shift. I got the “OK, sounds good” & away we went. About 5 min from the marina I slowed down to look at an area that had been holding live bait. At this time Bruce asks “are we there yet” …I replied that we were only 5 min from the dock and that the 1st thing we discussed before we left was that we were going to be making a 40 min run to the spot. It’s important to me that my clients are comfortable & confident so I said if you are not up for this please let me know and we’ll figure out another plan, to which he replied, and I quote “I just didn’t think we’d be doing this much boating” ….we proceeded to stick to the plan, I caught us live bait and got to the area that I had intended to fish. Fairly quickly Bruce had caught several Snook (one being the largest he’d ever caught) as well as a Sheepshead and some other species. We left that spot and hit a few other spots were unfortunately a bit slow but were absolutely worth investigating and making some casts. I kept him out over an hour longer than he paid for, on my time, just trying to really go the extra mile for him to try to make it happen. This is why I choose to reply to this review: to leave a marginal review when someone clearly tries their hardest and goes above and beyond is nothing short of insulting. If you are reading this understand that I take this seriously & the harder / worse the fishing is, the harder I’m going to work and put in 110% effort to make sure I did everything in my power to give it our best shot.
