Me and my 11 year old son had a blast catching fish with Captian Justin as our guide. I am glad we opted to go with live bait/ shiners as that brought in the most fish but we did get a few on artificial baits as well. 6 hours trip, almost 20 bass, I lost count. No fish over 4 pounds, but thats kind of how it goes some days.  If your thinking of doing this, definitely go for 6 hours. 4 hours went by so fast and I was glad we got the extra time.

Fished with Captain Chris Novak and we put a pretty good hurtin on em’. We probably caught around 25 total (lost count), the biggest just shy of 5 lbs. Chris kept entertained and on our toes with his funny and whitty sense of humor. He was also very flexible and allowed us to fish with live bait and use artificials. My father-in-law and I are excited to go book the trip again next time I’m in town or next time he has family come to visit.

We had an absolute blast out with Captain Bill!! We got out on the water in the early a.m and the water was like glass on the ride out to the first stop. We fished top-water to start and it wasnt long before a hook up and catch! We fished live bait as well and the action was impeccable. We had a great day of fishing on Headwaters with Captain Bill, boating over 40 bass! We threw some topwater lures a few places with no takers, but the fish loved the shiners. Jazz got his personal best and I came close. This is also a lovely place for bird and gator watching without any highway or construction noise.

My son and I have attempted to fish Headwaters about 4 times while visiting family in the area. While the lake is beautiful we leave frustrated not catching much of anything. This time we decided to book and guide to see what we were missing. Captain Bill Goudy did a great job showing us around and putting us on the fish. We caught a ton of good fish in shiners and spent the rest of the day in artificial. We found that we didn’t see 3/4 of the lake when we came before. Overall great experience!!
