Move further towards Boca Raton and you’ll be greeted by Mangrove Snapper, Barracuda, and Bonito. Between 5-7 miles from the coast, you’ll find the Gulf Stream. Having such excellent deep sea fishing spots this close to shore means that even shorter trips can produce impressive scores in Delray Beach. Half day trips will allow you to explore the Intracoastal waters, check out the reefs, or go trolling nearshore. Extended trips will let you combine these adventures, while full days are best used offshore.
Depending on the fishing experience you’re going after, the places where you can start your charter search vary. If you’re looking to target local inshore favorites, Lake Ida’s parks are your best bet. If you want to test the waters of the Gulf Stream, the piers on the Intracoastal Waterway, close to the inlets, will provide you with ample choice.

There’s no need for a fishing license if you’re fishing aboard a licensed charter. If you want to venture out on your own, you’ll need to purchase a valid license. Regulations on bag and size limits apply, and your captain will keep you informed on these.
