New Zealand Striped Marlin Fishing Charters

The Bay of Islands is world famous for Marlin. Here you will find Striped Marlin in abundance, but can also come across Blue and Black Marlin. Paihia is just one of their playgrounds. Marlin have a limited season and generally you can catch them from December through until May although February to April would be the best months. The crew will provide gear and permit, so you should pack food, drinks, sunblock, a cap, sunglasses, and dress for the chase.

This private trip is a great way to spend some quality time with your friends and family. Snapper bite well year round, and can grow super big, some even reach 15 kg. You can enjoy a afternoons fishing, then eat your catch at a restaurant that night. There is plenty of shade, so even minors will enjoy it. The boat is spacious, and up to 4 anglers can come. Bring a hat and sunblock and come.

This trip is perfect for more experienced anglers. It's summer time, and that means only one thing. Marlin in the water. The most common catch is Striped Marlin. They weigh 80 to 100kg on average, while Blue Marlin are around 200 kgs. You will be using trolling lures and live baiting techniques. Lures come early in the season and live baiting later in the season. Please note Marlin fishing starts in January and finishes in April in New Zealand. Pack food and drinks, and wear comfortable clothes.
