These long-range trips take you into seldom fished waters. We target huge world class Lingcod and any rockfish in the area. We may be reeling up Lingcod on one rod and Yelloweye or Salmon may be stalking your bait on another rod, at the same time. These trips are not for the first time fishermen. You should plan on a full day plus a couple of hours. These trips have amazing marine mammal viewing opportunities! We can not fish for Halibut on these long-range fishing trips. It was a successful fishing trip — we caught three salmon fairly quickly, which was great!
However, it would have been nice to receive more detailed information beforehand. I was expecting a 5-hour fishing trip, but we ended up staying in the same spot the whole time, simply casting our lines without actively fishing. After catching three fish, we weren’t allowed to continue and just had to sit around. Had I known this in advance, I probably would have chosen a different tour.

This was a trip with my son, we are both intermediate fly fishermen. Captain Ron was the best guide we’ve ever had. He was fun to talk to, he’s a teacher, he knows his stuff and is willing to share it. We caught small fish, medium fish and big fish. Best oart was we did it at our pace, in the boat, out of the boat, captain Ron was in no hurry, he guided the best day with me and my son. Thanks again, Ron!
