Montauk Blue Shark Fishing Charters

Spend a full day exploring Montauk's inshore waters! The fish you'll target are seasonal, so depending on when you visit, you'll be able to go after a variety of world-famous species. April to May is the time to visit for winter flounder. May onwards will see you fishing for Fluke (summer Flounder), Bluefish, and Striped Bass; and in July you can cast lines for Black Sea Bass and Porgy (Scup); finally, Blackfish is on the menu from October to December. Your captain will provide all fishing gear for you.

On a full day of inshore fishing, you'll have the opportunity to target multiple species—trolling and/or jigging for Striped Bass and Bluefish, and bottom fishing for Black Sea Bass and Fluke.

If you're an early riser, join your captain for this morning adventure, where you'll get to fish off the coast of Montauk for a variety of species! You'll spend up to 4 hours casting off for bottom fish such as Tautog, Porgy, and Fluke, and more, and will even have the chance to chase Striped Bass when they're in season (this is usually from June 1). Your captain will make sure you're decked out with rods, reels, bait, tackle, and a fishing license, and will show new and young anglers the ropes.

This is an inshore trolling and jigging trip for Bluefin and mahi and Yellowfin Tuna if close. It's a great option for any angler dreaming of battling these deep-sea beasts. You will start to troll anywhere from 8 to 10 miles out. Tuna have been coming in close the last two years. This trip can be combined with a little mahi fishing on the pots. For this trip we will use the SeaVee 32 TUNA TIME(40 mph cruise) for five passengers or less.

Want to test yourself against these awesome predators? Come battle Mako, Thresher, Hammerhead, and Blue Shark. All rods and reels are provided. You should bring along a hearty lunch to keep you going, as well as plenty of drinks.

You'll head out up to 30 miles to target Mako, Thresher, Blue, Dusky, Hammerhead, and Tiger Shark. Please remember that the tip for the first mate is not included. All rods and reels are provided. You are welcome to bring food along.

The trip usually starts at 5:00 a.m. but the time is flexible. If you're adventurous, this is a great experience for those wishing to target larger species that swim in these waters. Travel up to 30 miles offshore for this trip, but often don't have to go that far. Targeted species include Mako, Thresher, Blue, Brown, Sandbar, Dusky, and occasionally rare Tiger, Porbeagle, or even Great White Shark! Some species are catch, photo, and release only.

We will start the day by capturing live bait and then will hit the inshore or offshore shark fishing grounds. Using our special permits, we will target great white sharks, shortfin mako sharks, common thresher sharks, and smooth hammerheads. ALL sharks will be tagged and released as your efforts will contribute to our conservation mission. Charter comes with a $500 tax donation receipt and if we do not capture a shark, a 50% refund will be provided.

Our shark trips consist of going out first thing and trolling for live bluefish, for bait. Once we get enough we steam offshore to the grounds, set the boat on a drift, and start chumming. We encourage catch and release, but will keep a legal thresher if given the opportunity. Also there is a good chance we will see dolphins and whales during this trip!
