Portland Thresher Shark Fishing Charters

If you're looking to get out of the bay and out into the open ocean, this season we are adding a new trip. We will be fishing for tuna, sharks, and bottom fish. We won't be able to get outside if the water is weather isn't good and the ocean is too choppy, and we may still be able to striper fish inside the bay. 4-hour minimum trip times. Maximum 2-people.

Shark: This is our specialty. We love introducing anglers to big game fishing in Maine. We have lots of toothy critters in these waters. We average several sharks per trip, with many in the 200-300lb range. These only run on weekends July 1- September 28, so book early.

This is a full day of shark fishing. Shark fishing is catch and release only. Experience the thrill of fighting a shark who can weigh as much as 500# and be over 12' long.

If you're looking for a little bigger fight and are up for the challenge, we offer full and half day shark trips. There are several species of sharks that swim in the waters of Maine. We target Blue Sharks, Porbeagle Sharks, Thresher Sharks and Makos. You can catch these monsters standing up with a harness or leave the reel in the rod holder on the side of the boat. Whatever way you decide, you'll likely not forget the experience of seeing these beautiful creatures up close. Almost all sharks are released

Spend a day offshore sport fishing for Blue Shark, Thresher Shark, Porbeagle and Mako Sharks! Catch the excitement as we chum and drift for nature's apex predators in the Gulf of Maine!

This trip is 8 to 10 hours long and we will be going 10 to 30 miles offshore. We will set up a Chum slick and show you how to use the rod and reel and harness setup. Hooking up and fighting one of these is quite the adrenaline rush and an experience to remember. Some of the Sharks we may catch our blue sharks, porbeagle, Mako and Thrasher and once in a while a great white. All fishing equipment and bait are included on this trip. On these trips may also see whales, dolphins and sunfish.

We are prepared to go inshore or offshore, depending on the weather, group's goals and where the fish are biting! This is an unforgettable bucket list day chasing fish in one of the most scenic settings imaginable.
