Thanks for your report back, but I feel that I have to correct a number of statement made by yourself, with the full facts of the day. I am sorry that you didn’t enjoy your time on the water, due to your son getting seasick, this unfortunately is out of our control

Firstly, I had suggested that you consider the possibility of a full day, if you wished to catch rock lobster also, I also advised Kevin where to purchase the correct permit, to which we were told that he didn’t get to purchase it in time for the trip.

On the morning I did advise Kevin that we were slightly delayed, and he also acknowledged that he was aware of this. We arrived exactly 8 minutes late, but we were at the launch venue on time to meet up with the vessel for 6.30 am, not our normal launch time of 7am.

Our skipper then left with the team for Cape Point, as was planned and discussed, where they caught some fish quite quickly. At just before 9am, our captain called me to please arrange transport back to your residence for your family, as your son was feeling seasick, and Kevin had requested that captain return to Port. The vessel arrived back at Miller’s point just after 9.45am, and then your family were taken home. I have a full record of the conversation between yourselves and me.

As per our booking form here on Fishing booker, we advertise the vessel for a set price for THE BOAT, as we have fixed costs per trip. Whether we have 1or 4 guests, we charge the vessel price. It is NOT per person rate, as the boat is a private charter. Hence we cannot offer discounted rates for juniors, or when client request us to return early, when sea condition are comfortable for the trip to continue.

Again I am sorry for your son getting seasick. I did try to offer to take him out for a couple of with my kids, should we have had an opportunity before you left. Unfortunately our vessels were fully booked. However, next time you are back in South Africa, give me a shout, and I will gladly take your son out for a short trip and see if he has overcome his seasickness
