What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Miami Beach, Florida for the first time?

It appears that fishing improves as the day progresses. Mornings saw difficult fishing on both days but a bit more tide/current and small waves after a flat calm morning seemed to bring things to life.

Take bonine or Dramamine before hand just in case so you don’t ruin a great fishing trip. Bring carb and salty type snacks. Water and Gatorade, sunscreen, polarized glasses, a hat and light jacket.

Nothing with fishing is guaranteed, we all know that as anglers. But the thing that is guaranteed is that these fellas are gonna do anything and everything to get you on the fish. Manny and Mark are both super cool guys and they know their stuff!

Fishing in Miami is great, but not with this captain and boat. I recommend thoroughly researching and reading reviews about the captain and boat before booking. Look for captains who are dedicated to providing a great fishing experience, not just rushing through trips. Make sure to confirm the type of boat you'll be on to ensure it meets your expectations. Booking with reputable and highly rated fishing charters will help ensure a successful and enjoyable experience.

We highly recommend having an open mind. We come from Northern Ontario Canada and have fished collectively for 3 decades. Fishing is an art - it depends on the weather, barometric pressure, water temperature, if the fish are hungry etc. There are days when you will get skunked - if you ever meet a fisherman who has said they have never gotten skunked - it means one of two things: 1) they are full of beans or 2) they really havent fished that much. Keep an open mind, enjoy the scenery, have no expectations other than having a great day, the advebture and being surrounded by knowledgeable people. Be grateful for the experience and with positive vibes you will be successful no matter what!

You can still catch great fishes this time of year and with this crew of Jesus and staff just the time out on the water is worth it. I recommend a private charter is it’s within you means of course.

If your not sure if you get sea sick or not error in the side of caution. Start meds at least 12 hrs before your trip and again before heading out. I’ve spent a lot of time on lakes and didn’t think I’d have an issue but it got me. Trip was still great but could have been better if I’d felt better.

Bring a good attitude, sunscreen and water. Snacks if necessary. Listen to the captain and crew. They will get you on the fish. Let them know if you want to catch something specific. With kids, it's not daycare and it might take some time to get on the fish.

January isn't a great time to fish, but that's when we were here so we made it work and caught fish! Captain Bryan worked his butt off and took good care of us. Would highly recommend him for any size family you have

Have realistic expectations about what you can get this time of year. Just be happy if you catch something. Sadly, that’s my takeaway from a different outing than the one I just reviewed. Aaron and Michelle listened to what we wanted but also knew we just wanted to something. And they came though.

Do more than a 4 hour trip if your party is up for it and you really want to catch more fish. For us, it was my teenagers first time, and we were on a short spring break. I'm more of a Fisherman, so could've spent all day in the water with this crew!

The fish are seasonal, so ask your guide if you want to catch anything specific. The Mahi Mahi are around in summer, when the weed patches drift past Miami.

Tough time of year so fishing. Doesnt mean you wont catch fish, but the captain recommended that best time to fish in Miami runs from late march into mid summer.

Definitely book with Capt Bryan He works hard to make sure everyone has a good time!

I mean I would imagine it being an awesome destination! But the captain made it a horrible experience.

This boat and location is perfect. You are literally in the Gulf Stream as soon as you leave the inlet. Action was perfect.

I recommend going with an experienced captain who transmits the knowledge of fishing as the right places For new fishermen.

Take it from the person who learned the hard way- Dramamine the night before is the key if you have ANY problems with motion sickness.

I would recommend you go fishing in the Keys or find a less expensive trip so you will be less disappointed.

It was definitely warm but got some light showers on the way out that cooled us down. Sun shirt and hat advised

Arrive 30 min earlier than the listed time because you might be able to get started early. The marina has food and drink so you don’t need to pack your own although it may be cheaper to do so.

Winter fishing can be a little slow compared to Spring and Summer but this crew will give you the best chance to put fish in the boat

Keep in mind the weather might be change easily and the wave in the ocean is big. People might be easily get sea sick.

Look to book spellbound for your next charter. Great boat for the family. Kid friendly and great crew. Fishing Miami was great with a wide range of fish to catch.

Bring medicine to address motion sickness, wear sunblock or long sleeved shirts, and large ziplock bags to store your catch (they will provide none ziplock bags if you forget).

Ask about the weather, how to dress and what to bring. Ask about what kind of fish is available and what fish you would prefer to catch.

I would recommend this boat and this crew to anyone interested in catching fish and enjoying the experience.

Definitely book your fishing trip with this organization, our captain Jesus was very experienced and made the trip smooth and fun for our group.
