in 4 hours fishing schedule, 3 hours will spent navigating to the spot and back...will rest just one hour for you really fish. And if you wanna use your lures or jigs, bring your entire tackles (rods, reels, lines etc), since if you just bring your lures/jigs, you WILL NOT gonna be able to use it with the reels/rods offered by the crew (dont me ask why ¬ ¬)

Read all reviews and ask questions. Ask charter if they are fishing ready upon arrivel. Getting fuel and bait takes a good bit of time away from your fishing trip. This should be done before your time starts.

Capt George was a pleasure to fish with. His local knowledge, background and endless effort is what I look for in a fishing Captain. I would highly recommend booking with him especially if you are a small group of friends or a family. He makes fishing easy and pleasurable. (As always, more fish would have helped.)

Watch the weather. We lucked out and got a nice, dry, but still a bit windy day. (It rained the day before and the day after.) Chose an inshore charter for this reason, 7 foot seas offshore... Been there done that. Great as it is to catch a sailfish, spending the next several hours seasick is not much fun.

Either find a decent charter, have some friends who know the area, rent a boat to get to the spots where others are, or go to a jetty or pier. Can't go wrong with jetty or pier fishing and putting some shrimp/crab/ squid on a setup with a hook and a weight like a Carolina rig. Plenty of exotics in the canals as well that will bite even in December. Just watch for gators and snakes!

Takes no time at all to get to DEEP sea fishing...10 miles and you're at 1,000+ feet. Possibilities are endless but you better be with the right crew and boat or you're gonna have a disappointing day.

It's going to cost more than they tell you when you book the trip. If you don't have your own rods It was only an extra $13 But if we didn't have the extra on us it would have been a problem. We paid a $33 deposit and we expected the rest would cost us 77 but that's not what happened when we got there

Do your homework and check out your options for the experience you are looking for. Remember there are no guarantees that you will catch fish but the likelihood of doing so is high. As well prior to booking ensure there ae no hidden extra fees.

Make sure (the best you can) to get a boat and crew that will work to help you catch fish. It seems the less you pay the less fish you catch.

I think it would have been fine, but when we went out, a storm was brewing and I'm pretty sure that shut some fish down a bit.

Yes, but know your personal limitations. Choppy water is rough if you suffer from motion sickness. Prepare properly and enjoy.

Focus on the guide, not the boat. You don't need a 30ft boat to run around in the Miami bays and get to the good fishing!

Great time for Tarpon due to the shrimp hatch. Beat the heat. Beautiful weather. Fish at night when there isn't any boat traffic.

Definitely visit your doctor for motion sickness patches first because the ocean can get rough.

Only 3 fish caught in a 4 hour trip between 20 people. Sea was pretty rough so a lot of our group got sea sick (although they were all hung over so this did not help)

Have a realistic expectation that late summer fishing is naturally limited in the bay. We fished for the enjoyment of being on the water, enjoyment of the bay views and did catch a few fish to boot.

Fish during the spring months for better weather and more variety of fish. We only chose this month because we were going on a cruise. We may return next spring to kite fish for sails.

Go with highly experienced charters as they'll know the ins and outs of fishing in the area, local knowledge is much more important than it'd might suggest.
