Contact previously the captain. He will know if the weather is ok or not for your fishing. Some days in Capetown the wind is really strong, and the waves should be a problem. Cpt Peter called me 3 days in advance to suggest to change the date due the wind forecast. I did and don't regret.

Try to leave as early as possible to give yourself time to find the right areas, especially if targeting big game fish
Take sunscreen and water
Take photos as the surrounding sights are breathtaking. Possibility of seeing whales.

Make sure you have a boat that is at least 21 feet, a crew that is seasoned. Confirm they have their bait and what you will try to catch. Hold them accountable

Keep your dates flexible, allow a few days because the weather is less guaranteed in November. We had to wait for a calmer day to get out, so we allowed time and stayed flexible.

Das Wetter war sehr wechselhaft. Daher musste der Ausflug vom 01. August auf den 02. August verschoben werden. Um noch mehr uns größere Fische zu fangen, sollte man nicht im Winter buchen.

Let the captain cost the day to go out as the fishing can change on a daily basis. They know the waters so trust them :-)
