Be prepared! Thankfully, we had a calm day and all was well, but be prepared for those days that are not calm. If you've never been out before- you never know if you will get sea-sick. Bring Dramamine just in case!

Research and contact several charters and speak with them. I had a captain ask me why I didn't choose him and I explained why and he asked who I chose and when I told him he replied told me we would have a great time on Corbett's boat.

Hire a charter if your time is limited. You can spend the money and have a great day fishing or spend three days figuring out that you could really use the experience of a local fisherman. There are great options in the intracoastal waterway, near shore or off-shore depending on the time and money that you have available.

Choose morning over afternoons. Don’t even try to fish if the reports tell you there’s decent chop out there—especially offshore. We’d just had a Cat 1 hurricane out at sea that pushed northeast but the water and wind were still a tough.

Check with the locals before booking a trip. The charter boats will not tell you if the fishing sucks.

Still recovering from Hurricane Florence (and Michael!) but fishing is great! Try the boats or fish from pier or surf!

Make sure your hotel offers coffee in your room! Ours didn’t and if you’re leaving out at 5 am, you’ll need it!! :0)

Blue fish and spanish mackeral. If you can get a good day with calmer seas definitely go out to the blue water

We really don't know because our captain didn't prove to us that it was the time and place to be. Difficult question to answer

Pick a day with good weather, know what species your are targeting and find the appropriate charter. Remember it's fishing, you may get skunked but it's fishing!

Wear appropriate gear, sunscreen, etc. and prepare yourself if you think there's even a remote chance that you may get seasick.

Go for Spanish and blues. The gulf stream bite is hit or miss in June. Could have a great day in the gulf and could catch nothing but guarantee you will fill the boat with Spanish and blues

Do your homework. Check weather, check recent fish activity and book with someone who knows the local waters.

Get with Captain Justin for a great day of fishing. I'm working to put together a group of six guys to go out this summer on his new 38' cruiser.

Find an experienced guide and stay away from the group boats and go with a smaller charter

Be aware of the weather because it can effect the trip. We were unable to go offshore.
