Try and arrange your taxi ride in advance. It’s in a bit of a remote part of the island, and is a good 20-30 minutes from Willemstad. We had to wait a half hour for a taxi ride to the boat, and had to call 3 different taxi companies and wait an hour and 15 minutes to get a taxi ride back to Willemstad.

I was very happy how we caught fishing within 20 min of starting off very early. 1st Mate was great, did lose one fish after reeling it all the way in. Gave some good insight on the island and the fishing there. However the Capt. really did not want to go back out after we dropped off my wife who was sick even though we had two hours of paid fishing left, we did go back out but he did so after I insisted and not even at the spot we were catching fish.

Bring sea sickness meds just in case.
Stay out of the cabin while it's in motion if you can. Otherwise, it can bring on sea sickness much faster, if you're not used to it.
Don't forget your hat, sunglasses, and a sun shirt.

Mahi and Jack are the common species in the Caribbean around September, and it is also the beginning of bull shark season right up until Marlin season starts in early November. The fish are not as plentiful as some other places, so definitely request the north side of Curacao if you want shark or marlin. As for flats and inshore fishing, the south side of the island is just fine and in addition to the species listed for Curacao, you have a chance of encountering tarpon, giant trevally, nurse shark, sawfish (EXTREMELY rare) and several other species. We even saw a couple tarpon and a nurse shark while we were on our trip.

Waves can be unpredictable, but the captain was a great handler of his boat! I would recommend trying for a full day if possible, we did get one fish but due to the weather we were unable to get more (also may want to look up weather prior to booking but that can change of course).

Do research on the boating conditions because most of the time it is very rocky. The sea was clam for us, but we were lucky.

Have some motion sickness pills for each person, the water can be a little rough.

Lees je goed in over de manier hoe ze vissen en of je dit leuk lijkt. Zelf niks gevangen dus was 4 uur hangen en slapen. Maar niet elke trip is hetzelfde.

Spend as much time out on the water as you can, not the best time to go fishing for us at least in mid March, 4 hours on the water isn’t enough time

Lara Hoch
We booked the 7 am trip and seas were a little rough going out but smoother on the way back. They told us that was typical. Had a great time!

While our boat was unable to land any fish, several other anglers on the water were able to land a variety of fish ranging from wahoo, tuna, and barracuda.

Jeremy Dove
Mahi mahi and skip jack were our primary catches. Also a barracuda and a couple rainbow runners. Lots of sunscreen

While I mention not appropriate for children based on the questionnaire, that is based on the weather we had today and the level of action catching big game. Older kids should be fine.

Stephen Clark
The sea was rougher than I expected, even on a relatively quiet day. Land lubbers should take Gravol or Dramamine before to help with the sea sickness.

Absolutely the Captain was ..very knowledgeable of the area, and filled us in on all history of these waters.

Fish are here but the crew can’t make them bite. Be patient and enjoy the whole experience.

June is one of the best times for fishing and getting quality bites and quality fish

Use the Party Hooker! They work hard to make sure you have an incredible and memorable fishing day!

Best fishing experience with Smallfield Adventures! Amazing crew and vessels! Highly recommend

Yes, captain and crew do all of the setup. All you have to do is bring the fish in.
