What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Fajardo for the first time?

Bring lots of sunscreen… expect changing conditions throughout the day.. a raincoat.. and the sun hat.. and of course dramamine if you get seasick. I didn’t need it… and be ready to catch something big and have a wonderful time..

Just be prepared to just be a passenger you do t bait or cast and didn't catch anything so don't know if you would even reel in anything you caught and bring a cushion cuz all you do is sit on hard plastic

It was a perfect day no waves or anything, but we only catch two fishes. There is really no way to prepare, the weather is very unpredictable. We had luck with the weather, not so much with the fishes.

Great weather, good for family. Captain Marcos is a family man and marine biologist. He treasures our natural resources and has a wealth of knowledge other than putting a fish in the boat. Great times!

For groups of inexperienced fisherman who want the most action, I would recommend booking a reef fishing trip.

Go out hoping to catch a lot of fish but be prepared to not get a bite. The crew you go out with can only do so much, the fish have to do the rest

I say the only way to fish is with the right charter, take your time and read reviews before you book. The most expensive guys are not necessarily going to be the best

To ensure you’re getting your money’s worth, choose a Captain that is licensed and insured.

Majority of what we caught was barracuda. Catching other fish would’ve been interesting but we know it’s hard to catch specific fish. We enjoyed the experience.

Off shore Fishing is high risk high reward best for the experienced angler and even for those who don’t mind waiting patiently- if you want a more hands on experience perhaps inshore is best

Definitely take Captain Jose’s advice for where to go, let him lead and you can’t go wrong! August and September are hard fishing months but we got an off season Wahoo!!!

To book this boat it’s great for kids Advice take the medicine one day before and 45 minutes before your trip this way you don’t get sea sick

Tell the captain what you expect and any issues you may have like sea sickness/ motion sickness, if it’s your first time on a boat etc.

Pick the right time frame with best weather conditions for fishing. Look at fish seasons in different months as well.

You never know what you're going to see when you leave the marina. Fajardo is some of the best around

Just have an open mind don’t concentrate on just one specific specie of fish any day on the water is better than a day at the office.

Captain Marcos is very knowledgeable about fishing and marine life in general. Very professional.

Check to make sure there is not a lot of seaweed coming in. If so in shore fishing could be little tough.

If you’ve never been on a fishing boat on the open ocean, be sure to pack some Dramamine just in case!

The waters were pretty choppy because of the weather, so we just did some trolling and made sure the kids had fun!

It's all about the weather, unfortunately you can't control it but try to go out when it's not so windy. We stayed on the Carribean side and not the Atlantic side to stay in calmer waters.

Definitely a good experience for 1st timers. We have experience but this would be a great trip to bring kids and catch fish.

Yes, the captain does most of the work with trolling so it was pretty easy for a beginner
