The fishing was great. We caught mangrove snapper, grouper, and sheep head, but we caught and released. There was gorgeous scenery all around. The sun is hot, even in the early morning. A hat and long sleeve rash guard are needed. Sunscreen and bug spray are a must! Don't forget water and snacks.

Can't go fishing with no captain, the guy couldn't even give a courtesy call to cancel, did curse me on a review I didn't leave though. did not get to go fishing for waiting on this joke, even said we would switch time days w.e and still he couldn't even apologize knowing he's in the wrong...

Our captain had everything you would need. But bring a foam cooler with ice and ziplock bags. The captain will clean the fish for you. Also bring drinks and snacks if you would like. If you never done this before, it was absolutely a wonderful day for us and worth the money. Also give the captain a generous tip, I did more than 25% which I thought was well worth it for all he did for us.

Ask others what to expect. Find out what time of day is the best time to go out, whether to go offshore, and whether the present conditions are conducive to catching what they are targeting. I would not recommend the trip we took, but that isn't to say that trying a different time of day and a longer period wouldn't be better.

Yes, if you go in December at 7 am, prepare for it to be very cold for the trip out to the mouth of the river.

John Hicks
The devil is in the details. Ask questions make sure you know exactly what you are getting for your money.

Honestly, it’s all dependent on the weather. We wanted near /offshore, but that was not happening. Inshore was better than I expected

Chris Von Egger
We did an insure trip, was fairly difficult due to wind and storms. But definitely could not do offshore.

Gary Brown
If you want a good day out on the water, smell the salt air and enjoy the good weather this is the place to go.

Andy Spatz
Fishing this time of year isn’t always the best because of the colder temperatures. But there are still plenty of fish and plenty of action and tight lines to be had.

Logan Whitlock
Not a crazy amount of fish as expected in the off season but our captain knew where we could make some catches

David Richardson
Book with Capt Mike. We caught more than I expected. Whiting and sheepshead. Wear a hat and sunblock. Even in winter my face got slightly burnt

Laura DiGioia
Listen to Captain Mark, because he knows where the fish are, and how to catch them. Bring a light jacket to keep you comfortable when underway. Take fish pictures before you clean them.

John Roberts
Do the morning trip! It gets real hot in the afternoon. Nick suggested the morning after we booked the afternoon and I’m glad we went with his suggestion.

Wear a hat and put on good, greasless sunscreen.
Bring plenty of non-alcoholic beverages and hydrate each time your guide changes spots.

If you’re looking for a particular species then study up on the state season of it. Colder months get more activity than hot months.

I would definitely take a chater if you want to catch fish the captain's are local and have their own spots.

You’d be a fool not to give Captain Dave a chance to show you how your fishing trip is supposed to be!

Yes, be sure to keep an eye on your depth finder. There are a lot of sand bars, so for your boat not good.....fishing awesome.

If fishing in July it is best to not necessarily expect to catch the fish you’re targeting thus referring it to fishing versus catching. Captain Mike was very informative and very helpful.

Weather conditions can affect ability to go offshore fishing. Full moon can also decrease ability to catch fish.

Start out with a 4 hr trip to get your feet wet with deep sea fishing. Be prepared if you have rough seas. Dramamine is your friend!

Be patient, not the best time of the year to fish, but they are out there if you have the right guide!

Water is a little cool for strong bite but the fish are out there and it's still better than fishing up north this time of year LOL!

Be patient! Fishing is about being patient and that can be hard trait sometimes. Listen to the boat captain and crew they will teach you everything you need to know.
