Fishing in the Rain-Fish on Fire
August 30, 2015 St. Augustine 1 photo

Trip Summary

Yesterday, 30Aug'15, I fished with Robert Minor and family (Yan, Michelle and Mike). We fished the ICW South of St. Augustine and on the edges of Tropical Storm Erika. I gave them the option to not go or call it quits early because of the weather and the answer was "Let's go fishing, the fish are already wet". It was booked as a 6 hr offshore but due to the weather we went for 5 in the ICW. I hit a couple of spots before finding the requested flounder. Using jig heads with mud minnows and finger mullet the bite was on. We did the biggest part of the flounder in just one spot. When we moved the mangrove snapper took over. We caught, I don't really know how many total, three keepers and threw back ?????? that were short. This was one of my favorite flounder spots but the mango's wouldn't let a minnow get to the bottom. The best rainy day trip I've had in a while. I look forward to our next trip, Bob. We'll see you on the pond. Capt. Guy
