See ya Canada

Trip Summary

We had the pleasure of being joined by Graham and Sammar from Canada. Graham was on a break from his own charter operation and they wanted to try their hands at some offshore action. We started off the day on the current edge where we there were more Mahi than you could count. They were absolutely everywhere and eating everything regardless if we wanted them to or not. We ended up keeping a few for dinner and probably releasing another twelve or so before deciding to put the big stuff out and see if we could find a marlin. They were patient and understood we were looking for that one fish, that one bite. We gave it a couple hours in very fishy waters, but never found the one we were looking for. We stopped by the reef for a little bit to see if a wahoo might be around, but the jacks were so thick and aggressive, we struggled to find bait. We received a call that a school of tuna popped up eight miles away, so we picked everything up and ran out. Back out to the fishy area we were previously in. We again kept a few and released several more before calling it a day. It was great day of first and Graham even putting the gaff to his future wife’s first tuna. An exceptional day with new friends and already looking on making the trip back down for high season so they can see what a real billfish bite looks like. #quepossportfishing#manuelantonio#fishingcostarica#marinapezvela#travelcostarica#fishing#billfish#squidnation
