Great trip for the boys from Sweden. They joined us while they’re buddies we’re back home freezing. After a trip out of Samara where they had their fill of mahi, they wanted to go find a marlin and I was perfectly okay with that. We pushed out a bit further in hopes of getting past the massive biomass of dorado that are here right now and found some blue water with scattered schools of Bonita and figured that should be the spot. After catching and releasing probably a dozen random mahi, we finally had the right one on the teaser and Flaco made the perfect pitch to get a spectacular bite from this marlin right off the transom. This guy put on a show that couldn’t have been written any better and wore these guys out. They couldn’t wait for the photos to send back to their boys sitting in ice huts.
