we caught a big yellowfin tuna, as we had hoped for, thanks to Benito!
Set off around 6:30am with Captain Felipe to grab some bait for the Tuna and Mahi Mahi. The morning was beautiful, calm waters and cool breeze. We started trolling and it was a quiet morning for the first hour and a half, but picked up quickly with two Mahi Mahi within 30 minutes of each other. We set off to catch tuna after the second mahi mahi, and landed one smaller tuna fairly quickly. Due to previous day stomach issues, we stopped our trip early but still had an amazing time. Felipe would have stayed longer but we requested to go back to shore. Our fish was kept and filleted by locals and we kept one piece to be cooked in a nearby restaurante. Absolutely delicious, and an amazing day. Bravo.

Ruben worked non stop to put us on fish. The morning started out super slow. One bite from a mackerel that got away on live bait. Nothing on the jiggers. Finally in the last hour of trolling, we hooked something MASSIVE. No clue what it was because it ended up getting away after 30+ minutes of fighting. Spirits were pretty low after since we were close to time but Ruben didnt stop. We continued trolling and landed a massive dorado. And then another right before he headed back in!
The cons - pretty sure the listing said there was a toilet, definitely no toilet on the small center console we were on. Double check your listing. Not too big of a deal but didnt know license was an extra $20 until I arrived. Might as well just tack in onto the price. Lastly, we waited just over an hour for live bait in the morning, which seemed to be part of the 6 hours, cutting the trip short. I didnt mind too much since I was tired out from back to back fights at the end but could be an issue for others.
Overall, I would reccomend this company if youre fishing in the San Jose area. Much cheaper than San Lucas. Also, if you need transportation, ask the captain for Noel to pick you up. Hes great and has been my personal driver for the entire trip.

This was a very productive trip with Captain Ruben. We had done an 8hr trip and i liked the way trip was structured.
We first bottom fished with cut squid and got on a tuna and our limit of trigger fish. I also recommend if possible to bring your own tackle and gear if you arent a sit and wait type of person and throw some lures/bottom fish if thats what you prefer.
We then trolled for some bigger fish and were able to get on a nice wahoo and unfortunately lost another as it cut our line.
This is one of the smaller boats I have been on and unfortunately wasnt the most comfortable as at lacked some amenities so i would refrain from bringing children for a prolonged period of time. Although im sure the bigger boats have more amenties as this is the smallest one I believe.
Overall, this is a great budget friendly charter guide and I would recommend this to experienced and novice anglers alike.

Rubin was our captain & showed us a great day - he was so knowledgeable & very nice. Unfortunately we did not catch anything (the same for all other boats) but we quickly switched to whale watching which Rubin spotted around 50 + sharks, Rays, Sea Lions etc. I would highly recommend this. Thanks
My captain, Hollywood, had us on fish all day!
