Great and clear communication.  Great mate and captain, both hardworking. Great boat and equipment.

I did a half-day trip.  I wanted to catch marlin, but we settled with a beautiful Dorado (Mahi Mahi) fish, well over 30lbs.  Such a fun fight!

The coordinator Johnny was fast at answering all of my questions.  I asked about getting a license online, which saved us time and allowed us to leave a few minutes early. 

It does take about 20-30 mins to get out to fishing waters. Before that, we stopped for picking up live and frozen bait for $30 cash, which I had asked about ahead of time.  Then about half way into the trip, the mate changed out the lewers and that’s when we got the hit! Just trust the process!

About an hour later, one of the frozen baits was hit but not hooked, and thats when we saw her.  A huge marlin!  Sadly she did not want to bight for anything…  just one of those days, but the captain and crew tried hard!  I gave the captain a couple of cold ones to keep up the motivation.

Once back, the mate and dock folks brought my fish up to the local cleaner, La Filetera, who charged a $15 cleaning fee and then a $3+ fee per pound, which wasn’t as economical as Griselda’s Smokehouse, but Griselda’s was on the opposite side of the marina.

Next time I would ask if I could get dropped off there instead, since Griselda can also smoke your fish.  I will say that La Filetera was able to accomodating a quick fillet, vacuum seal and flash freeze.  I was able to pickup my fish later that night!

The boat had a toilet and a lower seating area in the shade.  It has two fighting chairs and the crew used 5 poles in at a time on average. Overall I highly recommend this crew and boat!

Another amazing trip with Cesar on the Mystic Marlin!!  And to top it off we also had the pleasure of his Son as first mate.  After our trip last year with Cesar, we made sure to request him again and we were not disappointed!  This crew are true fishermen through and through.  No electronics needed, just experience.  And they put us on the fish…again! It was amazing to watch Cesar and his Son work as a team to chase the bait and set the hook.  I cannot say enough good things about them.  Even when we showed our inexperience with landing large game, he was right there with kindness guiding us through the whole process to get the catch to the boat.  Never missed a smile or a positive word, even when we’d miss the fish due to our mistakes.  If you want the true experience of a lifetime, book these guys!  Trust me, you’ll have many stories to share once you’re back.  And for a bonus tip, bring breakfast tacos and drinks for the captain and crew.  You’re generosity will be returned ten times over :)

We fished Cabo with three generations, my 12 year old son, my 70 year old father, and me. We only caught one fish, but it was a roosterfish, which made it special. When we finally got a bite, the captain made sure my son was the one who brought it in, and that meant a lot to us.

We also saw sting rays, sea lions, and a couple of whales, which made the day exciting even when the fishing was slow. The crew worked hard and stayed positive the entire time. My son and father both had a great experience, and that is what mattered most. 🎣

My second year with Blue Sport Fishing and all I can say is they’re the best! love Captain Cesar; he knows his stuff. caught a trophy marlin with him last year. If you want a personal experience at a reasonable rate book with them. I’ve been the only one on the boat so if dont you want a 6-pack or larger passenger setup to decide who gets the rod, they’re your go to. Can’t say enough about my experiencs with them. Johnny is super communicative and keeps you in the loop on everything. Cant go wrong with this team!

So it went like this; I was taking my lady out for her first ever ocean fishing experience. We booked this trip through fishbooker and shortly after booking received a call from Tyler, the boat owner. A scheduling error had occurred and he was hoping to move our departure date a couple of hours. We agreed, and for the inconvenience, Tyler offered to cover the cost of our licenses and bait. Due to bad weather for our departure, we had to swap days and times. Tyler was more than generous by offering to cover those costs on the rebook day. Impressive. On our way to the Marina, we were contacted by Johnny to arrange the meeting location and acquire our licenses. This was brief and hassle free. The Mystic Marlin was already running and ready to leave the dock at 5:50am. Scheduled departure was at 6am. We were introduced to Caesar and Martine. Two brothers running the boat. A test for our limited Spanish, as they had little English! They asked what types of fish we were hoping to catch. I said rooster fish (high season for those) and marlin (which was semi low season). We ran out about 35 minutes and Martine had our lines in the water by 6:30 am. Six minutes later we were into our first double header of rooster fish….landed and released, the lines were reset and fish released, and 10 minutes later, another double header. We caught 9 rooster fish and 3 mackerels in the first two hours. As we had only booked a half day, the captain, Caesar, turned the boat to deeper waters. Martine set up the gear for Marlin. Martine said “maybe marlin” “must be lucky to catch right now”. We had been running the gear for about 40 minutes and a fin began dancing around the gear. Seconds later the rod went off and the first run was at least 100 yards with 7 or 8 jumps…89” striped marlin about 110lbs. THESE BOYS KNOW HOW TO FISH. Highly recommended. Will definitely fish with them again next time.
