I understand that “It’s not called catching, and called fishing for a reason.” Unfortunately, we not only had the bad luck of not having a single nibble at all (6hrs-3/4 Day), but we also had the bad luck of a substitute captain who did not give a single care in the world and was too arrogant to switch things up or listen to other captains over the radio/phone. Aloha justin, Capt aj is they most experienced captain on island and makes the majority of his daily income from the sale of the fish that are caught and sold after the charter takes their portion. He is not a “substitute” and you definitely did not hear other captains talking over a radio about catching fish as no one talks on a radio, so thats just a blatant lie. I can assure you that he would have ran the same trip if he had been just commercial fishing. As far as the boat the v-birth is off limits while under way on rough days so we intentionally make it unacceptable and almost everyone that try’s to hang out inside ends up getting motion sickness from being in an enclosed area. The boat is in great shape, its a fishing boat, not a yacht, not sure what your pics show. Summer time the fishing is really off and on, our best catches come in the summer and also days without catching anything. Everyday the fish migrate past the islands. Some days lots of fish, other days not so much. With that being said i can assure you that he did what he thought was best as his pay depends on fish sales and tips. Pretty amazing your trip was so much different then the hundreds of other trips we run every year. Hope you enjoy the rest of your vacation. Aloha chris

Captain Chris & mate Derrick were knowledgable, professional, and friendly. We had our first bite w/in 5 minutes of getting the baits in the water, and had a spectacular fight w/ a bounding striped marlin as the pinnacle of the day. Super personable crew- it was great to learn about the island and the fishery on our first time fishing Hawaiian waters. 5 Stars across the board- we will be back!
