A 6 hour trip (3/4 day) is basically our extended half day trip. You'll get a couple extra hours to fish over a standard half day trip. During March this often is enough time to try a bit for a trophy tarpon (the silver king!) and if things play out right still have time to catch a few snappers for dinner nearby (dinner & a show!) or try something else. If the tarpon fishing is tougher this also gives you a little extra time compared to a half day to hopefully catch that window where they are biting.

Fun and productive day

Captain Buddy LaPointe is an excellent fishing guide. He is knowledgeable and explains the techniques and tackle that lead to fishing success. We have a fun day catching a number of inshore / flats fish species including barracuda, bonnet head sharks, and a bonefish. Caught my first barracuda on one of my own tied flies. Great experience.

Buddy could not have been more professional and more focused on our enjoyment. We tried sight casting in the flats for permit, bonefish and tarpon, but they were having none of it. We then went to the bridge hooked two tarpon, landed one. Also, landed two jacks and a barracuda. Great trip with an experienced and attentive captain.

I used to be a fishing guide in MT for several years, and this is not my first guide in the FL Keys, and Jake was the best. We were on fish, literally within seconds of putting our lines in the water. He a pleasure to hang out with and we caught fish the entire time when other boats were getting darn near skunked. His number is saved in my phone and I will be using him again and recommending to all I know. This dude will put you on fish. Bavo Cap’t Jake!

Got on the fish and had a great time

Trip was great. Captain put us on the fish and the mate did a great job explaining the proper technique on bringing them in. When the bite slowed down we didn't waste any time and went to another nearby spot where the bite was much better. Mate tried several different methods while we were fishing for yellow tails to see if we could get anything else but the yellow tails were the most reliable. Would recommend, captain and mate both put us on the fish and we went home with plenty of fish.

They Worked HARD to put us on fish!

Capt. Joseph and Eric were just plain awesome and accommodating. I told him I haven’t been spearfishing in 15 years and each other this to the reef… then we went out to “the hump”. Caught fish and really enjoyed the banter with these two gentlemen! We’ll definitely book again with them next year!
