If you're hoping to target a specific species within the Nichupte Lagoon the 6-hour trip is the one for you! Go after Tarpon, Jacks, Sea Trout, Barracuda and Snapper year-round in this brackish reserve. If it's Bonefish or Permit you're after, head down between May and October. There are no motorized boats allowed in most areas of the reserve so the calm waters are ideal for sight casting. Spinning and fly gear await on board, as do soft drinks and bottled water. There's a US$15 dockage fee per person.
This is a half day of fishing 5 hours for up to 6 anglers. We leave the dock at 6:00am and return at 11:30am. We only include taxes, and dock fees. Anglers must supply their own food, drinks, fishing license, we can help you and get them ahead of time to save you from waiting in line they are $22 per person, and pay for their bait at $4 per bait.

Istead of a 6-hour tour, you will have 4 hours
Conveniently located on the Cancun hotel zone you don't have to travel far to get a world class inshore fishing experience. We fish inside the lagoon called the Nichupte Lagoon. We do not go out to the ocean so you'll be fishing in calm waters mostly close to the mangroves. The boat rides are short so you'll get maximum fishing time. We fish for Baby Tarpon and Snook year round and in the summer months Bonefish and Permit as well. There's an additional dock fee/national fee of 15 per person upon check-in.
Permit are fast, wary game fish that test any angler’s nerves. Permit fishing in Mexico stands out thanks to clear flats, warm water, and huge stretches of untouched coastline. Here you can stalk tailing fish in skinny water and watch the entire eat unfold.
Guides target Permit by sight fishing on shallow flats. You will pole or wade while scanning for shadows and nervous water. Fly fishing with crab or shrimp patterns works well. Spinning with small jigs, live crabs, or shrimp is also effective. Light tackle, long casts, and thin fluorocarbon leaders help fool these sharp-eyed fish.
Most trips run on shallow-draft skiffs with space for two anglers. Expect quiet, careful moves, many shots, and bursts of fast action. First-timers are welcome, but quick, accurate casts help a lot. Bring sun protection, polarized sunglasses, a hat, and good flats shoes. Your captain will provide tackle on most trips, but you can bring your favorite rod.
Mexico offers world-class Permit flats along the Caribbean side of the Yucatán Peninsula. Broad areas include Ascension Bay and Espiritu Santo Bay, plus the flats near Isla Holbox, Isla Blanca, and Cozumel. Productive water also stretches along the Riviera Maya and down into remote mangrove backcountry.
