Rhode Island Tautog Fishing Charters

We offer a limited number of blackfishing trips from October 20 to December 1. Besides blackfish, we catch seabass, scup, and cod on these trips. Most trips take place in Narragansett Bay in protected waters. Note: we do not pick up from Montauk.

The availability of this trip depends on what's running and the time of year. You could be fishing for one species in the morning and switch to others as it gets later. But full day gives the best chance to catch fish, and check more areas. We offer trips for striped bass, bluefish, sea bass, Tautog, and Fluke.

Blackfish, also known locally as tautog, are hard fighting and excellent tasting bottom feeding fish. These fish are resident fish that spend the winter offshore in deep water, returning inshore from spring to late fall. Newport Rhode Island has some of the best fishing on the east coast. Fall months gives anglers the best opportunity to catch legal and trophy blackfish Best Months- September through November.

Same description as the morning bottom trip except we leave the dock at noon and are home at dusk.

Take a trip to the legendary fishing grounds of Block Island. Trolling for Striped bass and Bluefish and bottom fishing for Fluke, Seabass, Tautog and Scup. Fishing charters include all gear, ice, bait and filleting Customary Tip of 20% NOT included

A half day inshore trip is 4 hours in the bay. Additional time can be booked at $100/hour if scheduling allows.
