Blackfish, also known locally as tautog, are hard fighting and excellent tasting bottom feeding fish. These fish are resident fish that spend the winter offshore in deep water, returning inshore from spring to late fall. Newport Rhode Island has some of the best fishing on the east coast. Fall months gives anglers the best opportunity to catch legal and trophy blackfish Best Months- September through November.

Price is per person. Need at least 2 people for trip to take place. Target fish will be whatever is running at time of trip. (Striped bass, bluefish, sea bass, scup, fluke, tautog.)

We offer a limited number of blackfishing trips from October 20 to December 1. Besides blackfish, we catch seabass, scup, and cod on these trips. Most trips take place in Narragansett Bay in protected waters. Note: we do not pick up from Montauk.
