Captain couldn’t put us on any fish, was unprepared, spend first hour of 1/5 day catching bait, when trolling was obviously unsuccessful wasn’t prepared to do bottom fishing, it was an expensive boat ride will not book with them again.

Be patient bring your own snacks and drinks. You don’t need to bring any gear other than sunscreen Enjoy the Water and the sites and nature we did bring cash thinking that would be something the captain would like, I thought the boat would want pesos but apparently they wanted dollars that’s a whole different story and afterwards enjoy a nice drink and food at the restaurant. The people of La Paz including the captain are very sweet, kind people

Recommend communication with boat captain on what type of fish is available for your fishing date. We really wanted Dorado but mid May is just the beginning of the season. We will be back in June for Dorado!

You should work with Edgar. He had the perfect temperament for children and was able to have small talk with us. His English is great and mannerisms are the best. He knows the waters, the people and what to look for. His gear is superb and he is in it to catch fish. He ability to help is above anything I would expect. Enjoy !

It gets hot about mid morning. Not sure what time of day you would get the best advantage of catching fish.

Book two days, because the first is spent getting acquainted with the captain, but the second is when you fish for what you want.

Research the time of year and the fish reports. February was a much better trip for the amount and type of fish

Bring a fish kill bags to ice fish right away and keep them cold. I arranged for fish to be frozen by tailhunter restraint but they didn't take the fish until 3.

Bring sun protection, hats, long sleeve, and drinks. Not always perfect but trust your captain. Don’t be to demanding cause fishing is not always perfect.

The yellowtail and dorado bight slows down, expect windy conditions in August. But, sometimes you dont get a choice when you can fish in La Paz. Still, better than being at work!

Bring sun protection and good attitude! Or at the very least sun protection. The captain and environment will help with the attitude. Hard to be a wet blanket in such a place

Edgar said the best fishing for Marlin and Mahi is July and August. When the water is colder in Dec to May, you are more likely to catch Yellowtail Amberjack.

Fishing could be hit or miss. We were lucky enough to get out on a day that was not windy. We did better than most boats out on the water that day.

Go in early October, head for blue water, no schools of Dorado anymore, so don't waste 2 hours on getting sardines and save time and money. Use green squid lure for Dorado.

Make sure you bring a fishing shirt with upf 50. It is a game changer to have the built in buff and hood.

If you are avid fishermen, bring your own gear. Being able to cast bait really made a difference for the big fish.
