What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina for the first time?

The weather was great, a little windy but the temperature was perfect. Mount Pleasant and Shem's Creek are great place to visit!

Listen to your Captain on tide levels and the best time to fish. We did not know about tides before the trip, but it all worked out!

Pay attention to the weather forecast…it makes a difference in your experience…the captain can’t control the weather!!

The inshore fishing experience was great! We did out in the main channel and back in the marsh! It was a great experience! Highly recommend Captain Johnson!

Perfect for the most experienced angler as well as someone who has never cast a rod. We asked for a shark experience, and we got it! Lots of sharks and lots of fun.

I cant, we fished out of Johns Island. I wanted to fish out of Mt. Pleasant, but the captain said he had his boat at Johns Island Yacth club

It’s all about the experience! In addition to the fishing, lots of dolphins, a Bald Eagle, two Osprey on a nest, Loons, Terns and more!

Bring a light jacket for early spring mornings and listen to your captain, this person knows his stuff.

Great area, just iffy in March. Captain said they caught 20 the day before but we got 3. It was cold & windy

Make sure you bring appropriate attire. The weather took us off guard and we were pretty cold out there.

Lots of options when it comes to areas to target in the inshore fisheries. Always something to bend your rod no matter what time of year

Make sure you wear shoes that can get wet. Bring sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat - you will be in the sun.

Captain Joe was very knowledgeable. He also told us where to go to get our fish cleaned and cooked. It was amazing.

Fishing here in august is very dependent on water temperatures and tides, be mindful of the dates before planning a charter!

Lots of fun. Caught a Cobia and a stingray. Catching lots of fish in the heat of July could be hard and day to day.

Fish early or late. It gets hot if there isn’t a breeze or cloud cover. Spring and fall appear to be peak for most fish in backwaters of the river systems.

Go to a local bait shop and interact with the locals they’ll give you the tips you need to have a great experience.

We always enjoy our trips to Mt Pleasant. This was our first charter and we have been missing out all this time.

The morning trip was great, it was perfect weather early in the day. Wear good water shoes because our feet got wet but you want to make sure you have secure footwear while reeling in the fish.

Our fishing experience had nothing to do with the month. It was the Capt. in his unwillingness to be productive he was lazy and hung over.

It's still early in the season, be patient with your captain and enjoy what you get and the experience, and have fun.

For the first time angler, I do recommend going with a fishing charter in order to lessen the likelyhood of having a disappointment.

Ask locals when a good time to go is...the moon and tides have a lot to do with how good the fishing is
