I think there is great potential for some great fishing here. We had a tropical storm due to start during the event of the day if our charter, and I think that affected the bites, but we saw A LOT of fish, they just weren’t very aggressive. Beautiful area to fish, plenty of opportunity, especially with a guide like we had that is highly experienced.
Stephen Buterbaugh
I will say this… It was absolutely brutally hot out there especially on the bay! Prepare yourself the night before by hydrating and certainly dress properly and bring lots of water, sunscreen and towels to wipe off with. Also, be sure to bring a little cooler with ice on this trip

June is great fishing in Clearwater, but don't expect to be catching big grouper although all the restaurants serve it. Apparently that season is a different time of the year. However, you can definitely catch various snapper and grunts, sharks, hogfish, and you will catch smaller grouper so you might luck into one that makes the size limit. Inshore, the seatrout bite seemed good. A good guide will put you on fish that are biting.

If you choose captain Jason, you can’t go wrong. I was nervous about going into the deep ocean however, Captain Jason ease me out there and help me overcome my fear. It was a beautiful experience!!!

Yes I Would. But need to watch the weather and what time of year for the main fish you want to catch. It was our first time our Captain was great with us and was excellent with my 8 year old granddaughter. She had a great time. Thanks again to our Captain

We didn't have ideal weather as it was overcast and a bit windy with a storm coming in, but the fish were hungry and biting. We packed some long sleeves since it was a little chilly with the wind, but overall it was a great experience.

If your not an experienced fisherman in the ocean don't go, you won't have any fun. Get a couple years experience first. and don't expect to catch big or interesting fish just because your in the ocean.

2 Shea would be a good first choice of charters. Very experienced with great captains and good boats. The equipment is well stocked and they provide you with everything needed for a successful trip. I would highly recommend 2 Shea.

Capt Mike was great, He uses natural bait. Hit all his favorite spots that hold fish and worked the tides. Caught 10 fish on a day that was not ideal condition. Other anglers/boats nearby did not appear to be having success, while we did

Call Gage at outlaw gunner man listen if your a first time fisherman or a fresh water guy from up north. Weather you have your family or it's just a boy's trip Cap know is stuff. And there good with kids we had to tell the 7 year old the sharks were hibernating caption Gage went along with it and she had a blast. Thanks guys.

I have fished Fresh water in Wisconsin/ Canada. I have fished salt water in Myrtle beach/ Key West / Punta Gorda and even Cabo San Lucas. Not every fishing trip produces non-stop action. Your guides know the area; communicate with them on what you are wanting to do. If they say that is not a good idea… trust them.

Sit back and soak up the weather and scenery regardless of how the fishing is! We left a snow covered Wisconsin for a week and were welcomed to record breaking temperatures in Clearwater. Temps reached 90 degrees 3 days in a row which is a bit high for that time of year. If you like your beer and/or booze (and we are from Wisconsin so we do!) don't forget to bring some along!
I take my fishing very serious, but a Captain and Coke would have made the experience just a touch better, which it always does! In moderation.... of course!

this is a good choice for those who would prefer in shore and flats fishing which is generally easier to get to, and more reliable if the weather conditions (rain, wind, etc) are a concern. Captain Matt will work his tail off for you to give you the best chances to catch fish. His boat is comfortable, has seats for 3-4. and is about as easy as any to get into or out of, if mobility is an issue for you. I would recommend this charter!

If you can book a trip late May prior to schools getting out and summer kicking off you’ll have a great time. I suggest a weekday as during the weekend it get really busy on the water and beaches but our Saturday trip was still very do-able and a great time! Zero complaints about the charter and the area we selected

Ask to catch lots of fish, they will put you on a spot to do that, if you ask to catch big fish, they will put you on the spot but if fish do not cooperate well then you won't catch fish. But in the first spot once you start catching fish you never know, you could catch something big .

I would say sign up with Captain Jace. We had a great time as he was professional yet very helpful with showing different spots, lures and how to fish. We had great conversion for the entire trip on alot of topics and not always about fishing. He is clearly a people person. We are from Michigan and were visiting relatives for a few days. We will be calling

Hire a guide who knows the area. Read comments from guests. A guide obviously cannot guarantee catching fish but if he knows the area, he knows where the productive areas are. We knew nothing about Clearwater or fishing in February. Feedback from customers is your best source in choosing a guide.

If you're going in the warmer days of the year, like late June, book off-shore trips. The in-shore waters are just a bit too warm, and this boats draft isn't suitable for fishing among the mangroves for fish like snook and the like.

John was an excellent guide and got us to where the fish were and we had several bites. With the size restrictions on fish we only had a few keepers; then again, that is just part of fishing. If we go to Clearwater area again we will definitely contact John.

Not a lot of action during the 4 hour excursion. Spent almost half the time fishing for trout.

Make sure you’re hydrated just in case
Take Dramamine or bonine Just in case
You probably want to book this fast early. They book up quick

Nothing!! Zach went above and beyond to make the experience as amazing as it was!! Thx again! Until next time!!
Justin Adams
It was a great experience despite the hot water temps. Zach knew exactly what to do and find the fish!
David Hoene
I would highly recommend Captain Zach to first time charters and families looking to experience and fun time catching lots of fish!
Steven Scheidler
Bring your sunscreen and hat! Go early before the sun comes up and figure on fish not biting after 11 am or a late evening trip to avoid the heat.
Allen Johns
Some things out of season that you are catching and it is stupid hot, but 2Shea is the way to go, especially if you have kids.
Stephen Wong
Summer can be a challenge to fish. Thankfully knowledgeable guides like Jason can ensure it’s a good trip no matter what.
Mitchell Parker
Couldn't be more satisfied. I was by myself, so felt like I got plenty if personal time with the captain.
Dale Wold
Listen carefully to the Captain. He knows what he’s doing and his tips on catching fish are spot on.
