What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Clearwater, Florida for the first time?

Definitely go with High Tide crew, they will show you everything you need to know as far as where the fish are and what to expect. Very knowledgeable.

You have to put back what you catch this year state regulations. Other than that go have fun and if you fish the bay it is pretty shallow about 3 ft but a good time.

To arrive early and pay for parking before you go out. We did not realise this was a requirement. There is one small sign stating you have to pay for parking. Not clearly visible. We ended up with a parking violation.

Yes the captain and deckhand make it very easy to understand what to do and how to do it

Get a good captain and be ready to work hard if you’re going for big fish it’s exhausting.

I can't speak to the deep water or inshore experience, but the backwater experience was super.

Amazing amount of fish and fishing the bay with calm waters kept everyone from becoming sea sick

Be adventurous and give it a try! You won’t regret it! Fun for the whole family!

Red tide could change the experience. Not meant to be negative, just a thing to consider.

If it is hot then get out of the intercontinental area and go out about 2- 3 miles

While we weren’t fishing for big fish, we were able to catch a bunch of fish to eat.

Plan for a change in the weather, we had a cold front and wind force us to reschedule.

The area is absolutely beautiful but fishing for the big guys is slower when the water is cold.

Research your trip and your Captain to make sure you are paying for what you are expecting!

Book a half day or full day trip as that will give you more time to fish in the deep water.
