What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Savannah, Georgia for the first time?

I’d definitely take an experienced captain who has either lived on or in the area and knows the good spots, it can be difficult to find fish since the weather gets a little colder, but if the captain is knowledgeable (or you can find info from a local bait and tackle shop) you’ll be able to find and catch fish

Plenty of variety in May. I went out on a charter on Monday which was part of a conference event. I caught trout, flounder, red fish, and even reeled in a blue crab. For my Friday charter, we targeted Sheepshead. Which I caught along with my first toad fish catch! We then moved on to night time shark fishing which did not disappoint! Had more fish than I expected. Fishing booker is always my choice when looking for a fishing experience.

If you are booking a fishing trip, Travis is your guy. We had an absolute blast. We were booked on a day with bad weather and he called us and pushed it to the next day so we had a great day. We were not experienced fishers and he was very patient and made sure we had fun. Also, pulling up to the dock, we had may more fish than the other charters so he knows his stuff. Travis IS Georgia fishing. No need to look at any other captains. He is THE captain.

Find a guide who knows the water, the bite was slow to start so you need to keep moving. Dress appropriately; sunscreen, UV shirt, hat and sunglasses with plenty of water. There’s no shade and it’s hot.

Yes, but the Skipper's limitations on number of total fish you can keep and number of certain kinds, like 1 red fish per person and 12 total fish for the trip - not per person, should be in the description on fishingbooker. Once you have paid a deposit, you are stuck unless you want to give up your deposit.

This was a very good trip for anglers of any skill. Captain Marcus was very helpful in helping us get onto the fish. Using live bait made it pretty easy to tell when we had bites and he was helpful in landing the fish. It was a very good, trip.

The fishing was pretty good, but the weather can always make things dicey. Our trip was rescheduled one day because of a big storm coming through the area. One thing no one tells you is to be aware of the sand gnats in early March!

Try to book a trip during the peak times for the kind of fish you are targeting. Weather is certainly an important consideration as well. Booking on a week day is probably a good idea as well. There will be less competition for the fishing spots you need to investigate.

Experience was worth the price given the captain was actively making sure we had plenty of opportunity to catch fish. We moved to several spots to increase our chances and it paid off. Really appreciated this with our captain.

Bring tons of sun screen and sunglasses. I know it seems so obvious but I still managed to miss them when packing the food, beverages, ice…..

It got extremely hot toward the end of our trip. The fish were difficult to find, but when we found them, we were able to catch several.

If you want to catch fish, do your research on times of year fish are biting. July/ August - water is 85 degrees and fish are not biting.

This time of year, be ready for the heat! Take into consideration that the inshore water temps are higher this time of year, which pushes some of the fish out into the deeper water off shore.

We were lucky and was able to catch fish as soon as Ross stopped the boat, but it did slow up as the tide came in and the temperature increased.

Come ready for great scenery, good fishing and lots of sunshine. Watch for the wildlife We saw dauphins sea turtles, sharks, and all kinds of birds.

Great experience for my 13yr old son and I. Capt Marcus was a professional and extremely knowledgeable. We have a memory forever!

Ask for Marcus with bad intentions fishing charter! You did a great job for us, put us on fish despite the season being a bit early and the windy conditions. A true charter captain!

It is worth the money you rent a charter. We have a few failed fishing attempts from docks. This was more geared towards what we wanted.

Make sure to take a jacket and hat when on the water on days under 60 degrees. Gloves might be good too when traveling between fishing spots. Long sleeves and pants help with the sand gnats too.

Give top line fishing charters a request to fish with them you will not be sorry. NOAH was a great captain.

It is a perfect time for fishing. Not to hot but also not cold. We were bringing in fish left and right.

Don't expect big red or trout. If you book with Marcus from bad intentions he will put you on fish and bring a lot home.

It’s the summer . It’s slower fishing but it’s about the experience. The guides can’t control if you hook the fish or if they bite.

Be flexible. Your guide cannot control the weather so have an open mind and follow their suggestions for your best experience.

If your fishing in the summer just be aware that the fishing here is much better in the fall especially for in shore
