Don’t be so worried about the weather and remember you are there to fish…maybe catch the fish of a lifetime. Listen to the experts.

Yes. This was my first time fishing in Hawaii and fishing for BIG fish and it was perfect. This crew gives you all the training you need to be successful as a rookie.
Michael Chase
Crew was great and got us on marlins, we just weren'tabletoget them in theboat. They did make sure we caught other fish which consisted of tuna and a barracuda. Overall, a very good experience!
Samuel Cron
Enjoy the views of the island from the boat and be patient it’s a huge fishery that can take some time in between bites. Always worth the wait!

Make sure you communicate in preparation. I said appropriate for children, but really communicate that above all else. I would expect it depends on age to a degree as to what species is targeted.
Justin Morrill
Be patient and understand that one in four charters don't catch anything (based on what our captain told us).

Book a trip on a smaller boat. Sitting in the cabin of a big cruiser is not really that fun. Kona is one of the best fisheries in the world.
Tyler Cegler
I mean, we didn't catch anything, but this is known to be a good place to fish and the boat/captain/first mate were fantastic
Nate Robinson
It’s fishing not catching be prepared for a long day with the chance of landing that long sought after fish. The legendary Blue Marlin.
Ezekiel Toller
We only caught one fish almost 3 and a half hours in, but I don't actually know the bite rate during different times of year. So don't exactly take my word for it

Definitely a waiting game on this one but caught two blue marlin and had a few bites from more that we missed

Be ready, the moment you think nothing is happening, Boom a fish hits and your in for the fight of lifetime!!!!

Do a little research before booking so can find the right charter for your adventure. Skillet Sport Fishing was a great charter for the cost and species targeted.
Michael Conrad
Invest in UPF gear, remember sunglasses, sunscreen, hat, hydration (we brought lots of water and liquid IV), decent shoes for the boat and water on deck, and snacks.
Nolan Trahan
Fishing is fishing, not catching. Only caught one. Would’ve loved to be reeling in one after another, but wasn’t meant to be our particular day. Captain Dave was great.
Robert Iwamoto
Yes, as long as they understand there are no guarantees. This applies to all fishing. You just need to embrace the adventure & enjoy the ride!
Michael Marsh
I'm not sure about the rest of the month, but this morning after landing my striper, Sawyer was on the phone and 10 other boats hadn't gotten anything.

A half-day trip locks you into a small window of tides and sea state - consider a full-day to give you more flexibility.
Lionel Haynes
Indicate what type of fish you want before booking. Make sure the objectives are clear and expectations are realist.
John De Bakker
Hire Reel Escapes - a professional charter company. If anyone can help you land that fish, it's them

Absolutely!! 1 person in our party has high anxiety but felt very comfortable the entire time, even in rough wagers!

Bring an optimistic attitude and be ready to have the experience of a lifetime!! You will love every minute!!

If you're sport fishing make sure you know whether you'll land the fish or release to time your photos right...

This is a once in a life time experience so make sure you book with a professional charter like Reel Escapes Hawaii.

Apparently they said we got lucky today by catching 2 fish n 3 hrs, alot of boats weren't flying flag(s) like us when they returned to the harbor

Patience pays off! Fun, fun trip on the water! Great time of the year to go fishing in Hawaii. We even saw some beautiful dolphins.
Teresa Yenovkian
Make sure to use the restroom before arriving, otherwise you will use port-a-potties.
Overall this was a great experience and our family highly recommends it.

Remember,it’s fishing, not catching. Come with a great attitude and enjoy the day on the water. It’s hit or miss. But one of the most beautiful fishing trips you will be on.
Alaina McGuire
If you definitely want to catch fish, there are small fish offshore options. This is big game fishing, looking for tuna and other large fish and not guaranteed.

Make sure to book at least a 6 hour charter , this for sure increases your opportunity for multiple fish.
