What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Puerto Aventuras, Quintana Roo for the first time?

Spring months are best for almost all species. September October good for wahoo supposed to be good into end of December but this year not so much have been getting caught everyone thinks it’s due to all the hurricanes that came through the gulf this season.

This is my second and last time chartering in this area. I feel if you are paying someone for this service they should put you on to some fish. Not sure if it's the time of year but better fishing elsewhere this same time of year.

If it’s your first time deep sea fishing the large swells and rough seas might turn your beautiful day on the boat into hanging overboard the entire time. If seas are perfect ( 1-2 foot seas)! you’ll have an excellent time

The bite was not good I would definitely check all possible avenues to insure a trip that would produce a trip with multiple hookups. Captain, First Mate, and boat were really good. Fished lots of regions but expect rough seas to say the least.

First week of April there was a lot of sailfish. In my fishing experience try to find a boat that will live bait! The boat I went on didn’t have a livewell and the captain said bait was hard to get right now. I think we would have caught a lot more fish but I didn’t see any of the boats with live bait. The captain told me May was best fishing.

6 hr min. Be patient. Let Capt & First mate do their job..sit back relax...it's fishing...not work. Remember..your in a Ocean and hope a fish sees your bait. It's mostly luck. Fish ON, Fish ON. It all makes memories.

Bring lots of sunscreen and use motion sickness preventive. Depending on where you are fishing at, the waves can be pretty big and our group struggled with motion sickness even with dramamine 2 hours before the trip.

Be ready to jump from site to site when the fish army hitting. If you get seasick, take Dramamine - some of the best fishing may be in very choppy water

Be patient, you will catch fish, listen to the captain and follow his directions.

It was an easy and great experience for our 10 guys we went fishing with. The ocean was beautiful and weather was great.

Go onto the boat with knowledge of the fish that are in season and you will have a great time. Pelagic fish are seasonal so expect to catch what’s actually in the waters at the time you go.

Make sure you confirm the boat has A/C in the cabin if you want it. Also discuss what the target species is for you before the trip so they can properly prepare.

Dramamine and patience! It may take a bit to find a school but once you do... watch out! We had 4 fish on line at the same time.

Weather is warm lots of wind chop. Height of swells and long duration between swells made it great time to fish.

check the weather a week before you trip. Weather has been the cause 2 differ times i have been out in mexico.

Enjoy the trip, but thefishing isn't the best in February. It's our 3rd time out with just some small reef fish.

I learned that my kids don’t handle sea sickness well - I always want them to participate in the trip activities but this was a tough call.

It was pretty rough seas out there to start, my whole crew toke dramamine the night before and the day of. nothing would wreak a trip worse then throwing up the whole time.

January and February are not great months to fish. You can fish the deeps during this time but need electric reels due to the depths were the fish are. 600-800' easy.

Good considering it was out of season for some of the more prize fish like mahi mahi, wahoo and sailfish.

I recommend bottom fishing in January. We trolled with another charter two days earlier and only caught one fish barracuda, which we ate and it was actually pretty good.

We had a blast catching Wahoo and got lucky with a school of Snapjack Tuna, apparently its rare to catch those in November.

Go enjoy the time, the first timers can rest knowing that the crews there will give them a great experience. They are experts who make it simple for any new anglers to have a great time.

Bring plenty of sun block. Relax and let the crew do their thing. If the fish are there they’ll get them on the line.

Very clean, stable boat with excellent service. They will do everything to help you succeed. The captain was very informative and explained things well. Absolutely! You can be at first timer.

Yes. Great location, fishing almost immediately. For bigger fish April, May, June are likely better but that’s fishing and we were here in March.

Get good directions to marina. Puerto Aventuras golf estate and marina entrance is not marked and it is right of the main road gated and guarded. Inside the estate the streets are not clearly marked

I would definitely recommend Dramamine or some type of motion sickness medicine. People getting seasick really can ruin a trip fishing.

We prefer bottom fishing for fish you can have a restaurant cook for you. We're not really into sport fishing.
