Don't attempt a first time gulf or offshore trip if conditions are less than ideal. No way to know if you are susceptible to seasickness without finding out the hard way. I was not affected but my family was. Luck of the draw.

Saginaw, TX
Everything was great but the weather had turned and prevented us from going offshore but Kenny was able to take us to a point where and stay there and had us getting bites and catching fish the whole time couldn't ask for anymore from him. Great captain

Take a jacket on the boat and don't wear shorts on the boat in November/December. Be prepared to catch a lot of fish but also be prepared to throw a lot of them back as they will probably not be in season.

There were many fish caught that we couldn’t keep because they weren’t in season. We still had a wonderful time and brought home 3 gallon ziplock bags full of Vermillion Snapper.

Check to make sure you can keep the fish you are targeting. There is a season for all the species.

Bring fly spray. Was very hot on shore but very nice on the water. Have a goid Captian that knows the area!

Stick with a day trip into the gulf. More species and bigger fish in general. Also, watch the weather!

Wear a swimsuit/Maybe take a change of clothes you might get wet! If you have a preference and beverage like Diet Coke you might take it with you. Take sunscreen and sunglasses!

Due to demand, better to go with your own group than to hope to join a trip. Be prepared for weather to complicate things, and sometimes you get skunked even when the gulf is full of fish.

The late autumn is rough. Make sure to have rain gear and be prepared for rough water.

If you want to target a certain species, make sure they’re biting at that time of year.

If going out deep sea fishing for the 1st time take motion sickness the day before and the day of.

I highly recommend chartering with Capt Justin. We had an excellent 5 hour trip.

Weather is a big contender during this month. We had to fish around the wind conditions.

Hang on cause the snapper fight like crazy. Especially when a shark or dolphin is around.

Pay the price and take your family out. It will always be a memory you can talk about.
