There guys may do great offshore on the pelagic but I don’t think they are honed in of the offshore snapper bite. Zero red snapper on a snapper season fishing charter is pretty disappointing. Update: I’m disappointed by the captain's response to the original review above. I booked this trip to take my family fishing while my personal boat was in service, not to “steal spots.” The captain repeatedly asked if we were local, what we wanted to catch, and whether we planned to eat the fish despite having discussed this in advance. I was upfront about being local and simply wanted to put my visiting family on some fish during snapper season. On the day of the trip, we spent hours on unproductive spots, and when I checked my phone toward the end to see if I had a spot that could salvage the trip, I shared it openly in hopes of saving the experience, not to take anything from the captain. We ended up with 9 small vermillion snapper and no red snapper, which was extremely disappointing given the cost and the season. The captain’s decision to fish only public numbers and then accuse me of trying to steal private numbers, after I paid over $1600 for a charter, is unfair and unprofessional. I left a review reflecting my experience, not to hurt the business, but to help others make an informed decision.

Fishing is very dependent on the weather, how many boats have been on the water, and just whether or not the fish are hungry. Be patient and allow the guide to use their knowledge of the area to give you the best opportunity for a catch.

Book the charter early before the trip. Select the early morning tour where most the time the sea is calmer. The weather was nice 80 degrees, we worn long sleeve, shorts, water shoes/clogs, hats (with straps), sun glasses, sun tan, sea-sick patches. Parking at the park is through the Flowbird app (download then start the permit once parked as the timer starts … do 6-hr slot).

If you’re used to inland fishing just know that you don’t need to set the hook to fish here, just let the fish hit at your bait until the rod tip bends forward. Also, these fish fight a lot harder than any inland fish so be prepared!

The weather was a little chilly and foggy but it didn’t stop the fun or the fishing! Definitely recommend a jacket for the boat ride if the temp is in the 70s as it was warm on shore but I didn’t think about the wind from the water and the boat ride.

For the conditions the fishing was good. We went into this trip with low expectations but our captain did great putting us on fish. When I come back I will probably wait until April when the water temp is a little bit warmer.

Apparently March isn’t a good time for fishing the area. We were told this upon boarding. This trip was great for seeing dolphins and being in the water in general. Very disappointed that we really only caught one fish in 3 hours (minus 2 tiny fish that could’ve been bait).

Be aware of the weather conditions. The rain chased us all day and made the water a little rough but we had taken motion sickness beforehand and had no problems. Also make sure you have a guide who knows the area and where to look for fish when the preferred fishing spots aren't available.

Captain Sean was very accommodating to the species of fish we were after. We were experienced fishermen so he treated us as so. It was a great trip.

Don't set any expectations on certain species of fish or fishing styles, let the captain take you fishing for what is biting when you go. Don't overthink it just go and have fun!

No fish finder used. 1 bag of shrimp 1 piggy perch for bait in his well. 1 hard head caught. Would not recommend a trip for fishing with this one...

Wear light colored clothes, preferably a fishing shirt and you might want to bring some dramine, whether you get motion sickness or not.

Communicate with the guide on times of departure, ask if you can keep fish (if planning on doing so), and listen to the guides when handling their tackle.

Take something for motion sickness, it can be a rough ride if waters are choppy depending on the day.

We fished light tackle. Be ready for slower go on amount of fish if water temp is too high.

We fished on a clear day with low winds with temps in the low 70s. Wear long sleeves, sunglasses and a secure hat for the sun and ocean winds. You might also want a small jacket.

Be open minded to catching lots of different fish. There is a lot of pressure on captains to perform.

Great variety! It was super windy the day we went out so we were limited a little travel wise, but we still had plenty of places to go and caught a good variety of fish.

Reccomend that you schedule a trip ahead of time. It gets real tight to get a trip in if you try to schedule with in the week.

Be careful about when you book in refards to opening day for Red Snapper. It can quickly get "overfished".
