If you’re used to inland fishing just know that you don’t need to set the hook to fish here, just let the fish hit at your bait until the rod tip bends forward. Also, these fish fight a lot harder than any inland fish so be prepared!

The weather was a little chilly and foggy but it didn’t stop the fun or the fishing! Definitely recommend a jacket for the boat ride if the temp is in the 70s as it was warm on shore but I didn’t think about the wind from the water and the boat ride.

For the conditions the fishing was good. We went into this trip with low expectations but our captain did great putting us on fish. When I come back I will probably wait until April when the water temp is a little bit warmer.

Apparently March isn’t a good time for fishing the area. We were told this upon boarding. This trip was great for seeing dolphins and being in the water in general. Very disappointed that we really only caught one fish in 3 hours (minus 2 tiny fish that could’ve been bait).

Be aware of the weather conditions. The rain chased us all day and made the water a little rough but we had taken motion sickness beforehand and had no problems. Also make sure you have a guide who knows the area and where to look for fish when the preferred fishing spots aren't available.

Talk to your captain. He will be able to tell you in advance what to e pect to catch.

Find a boat captain that has the patience needed educate you. We caught fish, but it would have been a great trip if we didn’t.

Some days the fish are biting like crazy and some days they are not, but it's always a great time trying!
Christopher Shope
Be open minded to catching lots of different fish. There is a lot of pressure on captains to perform.

Great variety! It was super windy the day we went out so we were limited a little travel wise, but we still had plenty of places to go and caught a good variety of fish.

Reccomend that you schedule a trip ahead of time. It gets real tight to get a trip in if you try to schedule with in the week.

It would have been 5 star but the seasons for species were changed and we didn’t get the fish we were trying for. Better luck next time!

The drive to the boat ramp from Gulf Breeze on a very busy weekend (Blue Angels) was straight forward.

Be careful about when you book in refards to opening day for Red Snapper. It can quickly get "overfished".
Jason Sweet
Decide what to fish for before you go out and talk with your captaint the night before.
Cyndi Bryson
We learned the water is just warming up in April, so there is not as many fish to catch.
Brad Clark
Don’t stay in one place. If the fish aren’t biting, keep moving until you find them.

You need to know where the fish are due to them moving around so much during this time of year.

Depending on the weather definitely get off-shore to take advantage of Red Snapper season.

Snapper season could start earlier and other fish could be in season other than that it was great.

Go early in the day if you're fishing in July! It can be very hot. Take your sunscreen!
