It sounds like there may have been a disconnect on the style of fishing for that trip. Trolling (lines behind the boat) is something we do at times depending on conditions, but for family trips — especially with kids — we typically focus on hands-on fishing where everyone can actively drop a line and participate.

That’s on us for not making sure expectations were clearly aligned before departure. We’ve already addressed this with our crew to ensure every trip is tailored to the group, particularly when kids are involved.
