Sooke Halibut Fishing Charters

This trip will take you fishing up to 15 miles out for the likes of huge Pacific Halibut or Chinook Salmon. Don't forget to purchase a fishing license and bring your own food and drinks.

Join us for an exiting halibut fishing adventure on the open Pacific waters. This trip offers the chance to target one of the most prized bottom fish on the coast, know for its size,strength, and incredible table quality. We'll fish productive offshore grounds using quality gear and proven techniques to give you the best opportunity to land a trophy halibut. Whether you're an experienced angler or new to saltwater fishing, this trip delivers an unforgettable day on water, surrounded by stunning scenery.

This 6-hour adventure will take you after Halibut. Your fishing equipment is included in the price but you need to take care of your fishing licenses and pack some snacks and drinks.

Fishing for Halibut is dependant on tides and currents. On each day, there is a specific time window in which fishing for halibut is most successful, we can often fish for salmon beforehand, or afterwards. To fish for halibut, we travel 20-30 minutes, set an anchor, and jig 170-250 ft deep. We have manual, and electric reel options depending on desire. We often catch Black Cod, Rockfish, and Lingcod too. LEGAL LIMIT is one fish per person, max 102 cm.

Get the early bite, 7 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Spend the day trolling for Salmon and bottom fishing for giant Lingcod, Halibut, and Rockfish. This trip pushes off just after sunrise with only a short run to the fishing grounds. We'll capitalize on the first light bite and have the opportunity to fish multiple tides and target multiple species, throughout the day. We'll also be dropping our crab traps on the way out, letting them soak full of bait for Dungeoness crab, while we're out fishing.

Spend 8 hours on the water, trolling for Salmon and jigging for bottom fish if you’d like to (Lingcod, Halibut, and rockfish). With only a short run to the fishing grounds you are sure to spend your time fishing effectively. We'll also be dropping our crab traps on the way out, letting them soak full of bait for Dungeoness crab. All fish filleted and cleaned for you at the dock at the end of your trip.
