California Halibut Fishing Charters

This charter targets light-tackle sport fish in the calm waters of San Diego Bay rather than offshore in the ocean. Species commonly targeted include halibut, spotted bass, calico bass, bonefish, and various smaller shark species.

We’ll be fishing local kelp beds, reefs, wrecks, and rocky structure just outside the bays, prime areas for a variety of species. Possible catches include Barracuda, Bass, Bonito, Lingcod, Mackerel, Rockfish, Skipjack, and Vermilion Rockfish, depending on the season and conditions.

Enjoy the beautiful coastal waters of San Diego while targeting species such as rockfish, yellowtail, barracuda, bonito, white sea bass, and sharks. Possible whale and dolphin sightings. All fishing tackle included. Note: Yellowfin tuna and Dorada (seasonal). Starting November 3rd (6 AM departure).

Spend the morning fishing for Halibut, Spotted Bay Bass, Bonefish, and Shark in the calm waters of San Diego Bay. These trips are perfect for people who sometimes get seasick or aren't looking to spend the whole day at sea. Live bait is not included on these trips but can be purchased for an additional fee. Please note that the trip is primarily catch and release. Maximum 4 people per trip.

Fishing in San Diego is superb year-round. Go deep sea fishing along our coastline with chances to see dolphins and whales. We target 10+ species including rockfish, whitefish, scorpionfish, yellowtail, halibut, bass, lingcod, sheephead, and more. Rockfish are always guaranteed on this trip. We can target your preferred species depending on the season. No tuna or mahi mahi on this trip. Message us to find out what’s in season for the month you plan to go. Alcohol is allowed.

We offer morning and afternoon half-day trips. The morning trip runs from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The afternoon trip runs from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Each trip accommodates up to 3 people.

Fish the coastal waters of San Diego for a variety of fish. Spend time in the calm waters and catch your dinner. This is a perfect trip for the whole family, as everyone gets their chance for a catch. Don't forget your fishing licenses. Dozens of species can be caught on all of our local trips. Yellowtail, barracuda, bonito, bass, white sea bass, sharks, rockfish and occationaly even mahi mahi and tuna can be caught. Start your day with a few hours of fishing and get back to the marina with a bucket full

Target local game fish in the nearshore and offshore waters. Go after Mahi Mahi, Lingcod, Rockfish, Barracuda, and more. The crew will prepare your fishing equipment, snacks, and drinks, but feel free to bring your own. You can keep the catch afterward and the crew will fillet it for you.

Fishing outside the break wall up to 10 miles out to target Bass, Rockfish, Sculpin, Sheepshead, Barracuda, Halibut, and if lucky, you can get Yellowtail on summer days. Customers 16+ must purchase a California fishing license prior to the trip. Please take care of your crew, they will provide you with the best customer service, 20-25% is the average tip. Fishing outside the harbor usually 2-6 miles out at the rockpiles and kelp line for Calico Bass and local shallow water Rockfish.

On this trip, with 3 passengers we primarily target halibut using live bait and sometimes lures. With 4 passengers, we fish using artificial lures. Please be flexible with timing, as trips are scheduled around tide movements. You may keep your catch; however, we recommend keeping only halibut or sand bass, though any fish of legal size may be retained.
