Best fishing trip
My friends and I had an amazing time with Captain Wade. He’s an outstanding captain with lots of knowledge and experience. He will 100% make sure your trip is as fun as can be. I would definitely recommend him as a guide and will definitely go back for future trips.

August fishing trip
Despite the "slow" fishing, which can be prevalent at the time of year we booked, the captain went all out and we explored every spot up and dow the river, every bait combo, until we found some substantially sized fish that decided to bite! Great work on Mark!

Great Trip
Both the boat and Captian were top tier. His experience and patience was refreshing as we fished several different methods through the day. He put us on the fish and we didn’t leave empty handed. The bot was perfectly set up for our trip and it was easy to see the superiority of equipment as the other boats struggled to stay on the fish. I would definetly recommend Robert Dunn. We will be scheduling another trip with him in the coming months.

Had a great time
This was our first time sturgeon fishing and it didn’t disappoint. John is very knowledgeable and a great person, would highly recommend booking with him. John knows the river very well and had us on sturgeon within an hour. We got 12 total to the boat. No monsters but most were 4-6ft. Great day overall.
About Sturgeon fishing
Sturgeon are ancient, powerful fish prized for their size and fight. Many anglers target them for epic battles and careful catch and release. They grow large, live long, and test both skill and stamina.
Most Sturgeon fishing uses bottom fishing in big rivers and estuaries. Anglers anchor or drift and present natural baits near the bottom. Common baits include lamprey, herring, shrimp, salmon roe, and nightcrawlers. Use heavy rods, strong line, and a tough leader, the short line by the hook. Circle or barbless hooks help solid hookups and easier releases.
Expect patient fishing with sudden, long runs and deep, steady pulls. Fights can last a while, so bring stamina and listen to your guide. This trip suits beginners who want coaching and seasoned anglers chasing a trophy. Dress in layers, wear non-slip boots, and pack sun protection and a camera. Tides and current often set the bite, so timing matters.
Regulations for Sturgeon vary by region and can change often. Many waters require licenses, special tags, seasons, or catch-and-release only. Some areas also require barbless hooks and quick, in-water handling. Always check official local rules before your trip, and follow safe handling.
