For first time anglers booking a trip May - Sept. Prepare for the sun. Bring drinks that keep your body hydrated. Prepare with seasickness meds. The fishing is great but if someone on the boat gets sick, it can change the experience or shorten it. A little preparation will make it a great trip.

Tom Kocik
We took the 6 hour trip and that was perfect for us this time. It was such a great experience that next time we will be planning a longer excursion. If you love to fish, take the longer excursion and make a day of it.

Maggie Antcliff
Not applicable. The hurricane disrupted everything. We were launched from a boat site over in Bradenton. We fished inland in many different areas between Bradenton and Ana Maria Island. We did love the solution as Devon was able to find different locations that had Fish.

The water is hot, so the fish are lazy. The baitfish don't last all day in the tank, so go in the morning and be ready to finish up around noon. From what the Captain stated, May and October are probably the best months. But we had great success in July.

Book a morning in shore trip with Captain Andrew/Chasin Limits Charters. Great captain, great boat and great day of fishing. Everything was awesome start to finish. Captain Andrew asked us which fish we wanted to target then proceeded to put us on all 3 we asked to catch and two more species as well. Great trip

It’s all weather dependent. Of course, with a knowledgeable captain, a good boat and equipment, your chances of success go up. Just remember, it’s called fishing, not catching for a reason. Good Luck!

Gene Wong
Bring a wet proof wind breaker , and old towel for wiping your hands. A good attitude b/c you will lose some fish and share the boat and the captain services with others. Sunscreen for epiderma protection is a must!

Just before it starts to get to hot to enjoy being outside an according to the captain the water temperature’s are still in the warm but not hot Category which makes fish more active an and they tend to feed better..

Bring a cooler with cold drinks and some snacks, and sunscreen. Wear layers--it's generally chilly first thing in the morning if you sign up for a charter the first half of the day, but quickly warms up. In addition, I'd highly recommend the morning charters during the summer, as afternoon storms are common.

Great time to get out there. The waters were calm and the fish bite constantly. Only down side of this time of year is several species are closed, so they can't be kept, including amberjack, red snapper, and gag grouper.

Book With Andrew! He knows the area and is a great Captain! He will take You to the Fish!

John Kaiser
Captain Jeff was patient and found us fish after trying a few spots. He also is knowledgeable about the area and found marine life including manatees.

Matthew Bearden
Devan mentioned that results depend on time of day and the tides, that the best time to fish is as he tide rolls out. I think next time we will try a morning trip with low tide.

Cody Field
We didn’t catch a lot of fish and we didn’t catch a lot of big fish. I understand that it’s the time of year and season that we are here.

Joseph Vingelis
Ok, fishing for grunt with frozen shrimp. Probably should have asked more questions before I booked.

Lynn Adams
Reef fishing is a perfect way to spend a day on vacation. A basic knowledge of fishing is all that’s required. Drop your line and wait for a hit.

David Hanson
Summer is not the peak season for catching keepers or fish that are good to eat. Be prepared to catch a lot of smaller fish though.

Jacquelyn Baker
The boat is nice size and well maintained. The captains of this company are professional, kind, patient, and highly knowledgeable. They will make sure you catch a lot of fish and have fun doing it!

Frank Preziuso
Absolutely. We booked a mid afternoon charter and still brought home some fish. We look forward to a morning trip next

Tim Parker
As soon as your bait hits the bottom, you’re going to get a hit on it. Are you good enough to catch the big ones?

Jennifer Jackson
Zach is very knowledgeable, professional and equally entertaining! Great trip and fun time for all! Will most definitely enlist his services again.

Rob Fowler
By late May the water heats up quite a bit and it gets harder to find good fish inshore. Recommend finding larger boats running offshore a minimum of 5+ miles.

Michael O'Hara
Great place to get some action. Captain Doug will keep the children interested and busy catching fish

Kevin McDonald
Try to watch weather and get out on a Calm day. We were stretched for time so we had to take what we could get.

Kendall Dearman
It was a little windy, but our captain or captain knew places to avoid that. So it didn’t hinder us one bit

John Kenny
If you have children on the trip, bottom fishing for snapper and grouper ( in season) is the way to go, especially if kids are new to fishing.

Jeff Smith
A lot of fish are out of season during the end of October. Still plenty of others to catch and still fun.

Chase the Blue's captain has great personality. I'm a seasoned fisherman and can see he would be a great mentor for first timers too.

If you are wanting to catch a variety of fish… And a few unexpected ones… Inshore/nearshore is the way to go.

Book a guide the intracoastal waters are very wide in that area around Anna Maria and not always a lot of water.
