What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Cumming, Georgia for the first time?

Pay attention to what the captain tells you about preparing for the trip! It was colder than we all dressed for. . . . And the captain had warned us about the cold in the morning! Prepare for fun! Mickey knows where the fish are!

This is a beautiful area with lots of streams. Be prepared to hike a little to get up and down the stream. We had such a great time. We are all about having a great experience and Richard really provided a great service to us.

If you come this time of year, early morning, bring a warm jacket or hoodie. Come with sunglasses, snacks, water, and bring your best attitude. It's lovely. If you are a newbie fisher, depend on Captain Mickey. If you are experienced, discuss with him what you will be allowed to do as far as managing the poles. Plan to spend a wonderful day enjoying the weather and the views. You will see more than fish and depend on Captain Mickey to give you lessons about the area and the wildlife. This was my first time on a boat fishing trip and I can't wait to try again, especially since I didn't have to get my hands dirty: ).

Getting out on the lake in the morning is best - less recreational boaters zooming by, better time to catch fish, and the sun is not as intense as it would be in the afternoon.

The launch is easy to locate. The temperature on the water is about 10 degrees cooler so be prepared if fishing on a chilly day.

Allow lots of extra travel time if you're driving the expressways around Atlanta. Dress for the weather, it's colder out on the lake in the fall. Sunglasses are a must, the water gets very sparkly

Fishing were not biting. My son in law do pull in one striper. Captain tried hard to get on the bite.
