It may rain while you're on the trip. It's not a bad idea to take a decent quality poncho. Captain Rene Him is the best guide I have ever had. Book a trip with him and you won't regret it.

Bring a rain poncho just in case and if you have a favorite casting rod maybe bring it Theirs are good Shimano's but maybe this is a personal preference of mine they are little oversized but they need that to last.
Daniel provides a great lunch and all the water sodas and beer you could drink. They definitely want you to have a great experience and they provide it. His mate Michael is really really good and they both speak great English

Rainy season seems to be better for peacock bass in the canal and Lake Gatun. Book early morning to avoid Panama traffic. Bring sunscreen. Make sure your guide is fluent in your chosen language.

It does get hot. Hydrate on the boat and bring a hat. Take tons of pictures. It's absolutely serene and gorgeous.

i would recommend booking a longer trip with this guide. We were limited on time and only booked the three hour trip, but i wish we'd fish with him longer.

It's the start of the rainy season so plan appropriately. Highly recommend good gear to manage both sun and rain. After a very successful day 1, weather changed our day 2 plans and we struggled to get on the fish.

CATTAN SPORT FISHING PANAMA
As long as your expectations are for Peacock Bass you will be very pleased. Other species were absent from our trip. We did catch one Oscar cichlid.
