The first charter boats start appearing in Frankfort around the beginning of May. However, if you plan on fishing for trophy King Salmon, you’ll want more time on the water to maximize your chances. Charter captains in Frankfort are mostly located along the Betsie Lake waterfront, giving you easy access to Lake Michigan.
 

Each angler aged 17 or older will need to purchase a Michigan fishing license whether they’re fishing onboard a charter or solo. You can buy the license online and check if you qualify for any exemptions.
